Rec if you Predict Dems hold onto House...
Unrec if you do not think so (despite what you may hope for and/or be working towards.)

Just a little experiment.. my first thought is this post ends up on the top 10 "On the Fence" posts. (Or is just ignored, heh)

Also, I hope a post like this is allowed, if not I apologize and ask that it be deleted.

Thanks.

Some may unrec because they think its a dumb idea. Heh, I guess I should have thought that through some more. Never posted a poll.

Thanks.

6. I think there might be a good chance, because....
I've been hearing the right-winger talking heads spouting off about "liberals are stealing the election" and on Morning Joe the crew looks awfully subdued lately, like they are expecting a disappointment.

Plus the rising approval ratings of President Obama and the big crowds he is drawing point to a lot of enthusiasm among us Dems.

I think there is actually a pretty darn good chance we'll hold on to both the house and senate.

16. The Dems will do better than the current polls and Talking Heads are predicting.
The Repubs peaked way too early, and their pre-mature ejaculation created a well deserved blowback.

My fear is that the Democratic Party leadership will interpret this as a Public Mandate for their very "Centrist" policies and performance.
NOTHING could be further from the truth.

I, like most other Liberals, WILL be voting Democratic, but I wish there was a "comments" section on the bottom of the ballot so I could tell them how FURIOUS I am with their Republican Appeasement and the open insults toward the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party.

at some point we have to recognize that we don't really stand for them."

With the same caveats. This is like the Vietnam era, where both the Democrats and Republicans, and the media, were the "establishment," and real choice was mostly not available.

18. I wish I could. Really do.
And I hope like hell we do hold the House. But the numbers are not looking good. Remember, there are 49 House Districts that went for McCain in 2008 but elected a Democrat. Most of those are prime targets. Plus there are a number of additional seats where the incumbent is retiring, which hurts. A number of races are tightening, and I've written a couple of more checks to help out candidates in races that we need to win. But at best, its too close to call.

We're +6 on the latest generic Congressional ballot. The only thing that sucks is that Wisconsin seems like it'll have a Republican wave with respect to state politics that could put Feingold out of a job.

21. I really don't know but...
I think there is alot more enthusiasm now then a couple of weeks ago, I was a bit worried then. The bottom line is this: If the Pubbies don't take control of the House and Senate that will stand as a testament the Presidents agenda is Centrist not far left and it is on track for what Americans broadly want. It will be a resounding slap in the face to the Right wing radical extremists of the tea party. In other words the debate will be over and I think at that point Obama can safely move his agenda further left without too much fear of the electorate getting upset about it.

The American voter has a short memory and, with the job situation as bad as it is, s/he is just itching to vote out incumbents.

The reports of a strong Democratic turnout for early voting is heartening though.

31. I am sure we hold the Senate. I am beginning to suspect we MIGHT hold the house.
I have never seen the country sour to a party as quickly as they have soured to the Tea Party. They made good theater, but I think lots of folks are getting cold feet about having them represent them in DC.

If the election was in December, I am sure we would hold both houses. These whackos do not stand up to scrutiny. Their best chance is lock themselves in their own homes and refuse to speak to anyone until Nov. 3. That way they will stop making so many laughable mistakes. When complete amateurs run for office, they act like...complete amateurs.

gets as many people they possibly can out to the polls. If everybody keeps canvassing and making phone calls for their candidates and the Democcrats now until election day; and if we work our damndest: then we'll keep the house. This isn't going to come easy, but if we work hard -it will come.

44. Anyone who honestly think that (with conviction) should use intrade.
http://www.intrade.com/?request_operation=main&request_type=action&checkHomePage=true

$10 nets you $100 if Democrats hold the house on election day.

so deposit say $10,000 (take an advance on credit card) and make $100,000 in less than 2 weeks.

Of course a simple "belief" is usually meaningless. Anyone not willing to put money behind it is just telling themselves what they want to hear.

I'm not part of the Perfection and Purity Brigade. Politics is cyclical, and the party that holds the executive usually loses quite a few seats in the midterm. That's the way of things.

If we hold the House I'll start the biggest crow-eating, self-mocking thread I can; will those who castigate those of us for acknowledging the probable loss of the House do the same if we're right? I think not.

The main stream media has it wrong.

It is the last week before the election; now is the time for people who only pay attention to elections to wake up. There is no enthusiasm gap and Democratic voter turnout on election day will exceed the Republicans.
