I thought I would mention a tradition we've had here at DU - that of changing one's avatar to one of the "I Voted" avatars from the time that one votes until after the election. It's considered a badge of honor, much like the sticker the blood bank gives out that says "I Gave Blood". And we have given blood during these midterms, haven't we? It's almost been like Primary Season, except with more unidentifiable corporate payola.

2. I just realized I started this thread at midnight on Saturday night

A few things can easily be surmised by this. I wasn't paying attention to the clock. I stay up all night and on this and many Saturday nights I don't go out. Methinks I may repost this next week in the middle of the afternoon. I don't think it's going to get all that much airplay now. But thank you for voting!

Yeah, it may seem like afternoon to you, but to a nightshifter, it isn't. What does this have to do with this post? Nothing, except that this is a better time of day to be discussing this ritual than the middle of my day, which is conversely, 1am.
