We all suffer whenever voters forget to hold corporations accountable on Election Day
And "holding corporations accountable" would mean electing public officials who DON'T think that it's their FIRST and ONLY duty to serve corporations over taking care of the needs of the American people and the public good.

I have always wondered why Americans routinely vote to offshore jobs, destroy unions, pollute the environment, empty corporate tax revenues and prevent corporations from being legally liable for the pain and damage that they cause, by electing corporate whores, mostly Republicans. AND THEN, go back and do it again after being burned the first time.

It's positively bizarre.

For example here in Michigan, we have to make a choice between two vastly different people running for governor; The Republican Rick Snyder, a man who has on his resume a gig at running Gateway Computer... A company, whose employees that he ran into the unemployment line and whose ownership that he ran into the hands of the Chinese. Snyder also blames the job loss situation in Michigan on "career politicians" here, instead of the corporate decision makers who made conscious decisions to fire workers and send their jobs offshore. (Ironic, huh?)

On the Democratic side, we have Virg Bernero, a man who knows quite well the extent at which corporations can make ordinary people suffer when they're not held accountable, as Bernero is the former mayor of Flint, MI. The city that knows corporate malfeasance first hand, because of the way that the city was abandoned by General Motors. Michael Moore's very first documentary, ROGER AND ME, detailed the history and effect of GM's abandonment of Flint years ago. Years later, Bernero became notable as a loud and unyielding voice that advocated for Flint's citizens.

Again, guess who's leading in the polls?

The corporate whore, Snyder, of course.

We never learn.
