The chairman of the Democratic National Committee predicts that Democrats will retain control of the House and Senate after November midterm elections.

"Do you think you will keep the House?" ABC's Christine Amanpour asked DNC Chairman Tim Kaine Sunday.

"I do," he said. "I think it's going to be close, and as you point , these races are very close. But from this point forward, it's all about turnout and ground game, and we're seeing good early voting trends and we -- we've got work to do, but we think we can do it."

5. I expect YOUR resignation the Wednesday morning after election day if he's wrong =P

Especially if you aren't knocking on doors!;P

I'm kidding, of course =)

If we don't win it's not because predictions are wrong, it's because not enough people were knocking on doors and making phone calls. Organization is key. So let's get to it!!! =)

9. Dumb Question
I always thought Amanpour was one of the smarter folks at CNN, but that question was not her best.

If Kaine thought the Democrats were going to lose the House, do you think he'd admit it?

10. Hes right
Barring some unexplained republican momentum in the next week, we are not going to lose the house. We are going to lose a lot of seats, but we are not going to lose more than 45 seats. Mark my words, many of the professional pollsters have failed miserably this cycle. They are flat-out overestimating the trouble that a lot of democratic incumbents are in, in many cases people like Cook and Silver take races where the dem has consistently lead by a small margin and they consider it a toss-up simply because of their crappy voter models which focus way too much on crap polling from Rasmussen, SUSA, and others. Nov 2 is not going down like many of us expect, all of us need to stay positive, remind everyone we know to vote and volunteer.

12. With all the right wing propaganda in my mailbox and
the television commercials telling me how terrible the democrats are, it just makes me want to vote even more! I hope all this negative campaigning by republicans has the opposite effect of what they're wanting. If it gets the people off their asses and vote, we'll win!

13. Let's not count our chickens before they hatch. And also if dems don't think we are ahead
in the afternoon (there will be no exit polls released I am sure), more of these dems will come home from work and vote in the early evening.
