Mallard Fillmore....gets one right for a change
Edited on Mon Oct-25-10 12:02 PM by melm00se
normally I am not a big fan of Mallard Fillmore, but today's panels hit it right on the head.

Proof that a broken clock is right twice a day:

to add a link to go straight to the panels:

3. My guess is that he had a guest artist ...
you know kind of like Garfield and other strips where they hire young artists to do the actual work and then something actually funny or real gets slipped through the cracks while Mallard is passed out by his scotch bottle.

4. I don't know why Mallard would be down on the Chinese
After all, their highly regimented, hostile to dissent governance is the Republican Dream. It's the American Nightmare, but listening to Republican candidates like Joe Miller in Alaska, you'd think it was every Republican's most fervent wish that anyone who bad-mouthed the government (at least while they're in charge) should be summarily tossed in jail.

Also, I didn't think the reactionaries thought the Nobel Peace Prize was a legitimate honor. Very much against the usual nitwittery one has come to count on from the idiot right.

5. Yeah, it seems pretty disingenuous to me. Or as another said, maybe a guest artist. n/t

6. Here's your basic Mallard Fillmore strip so you never have to read it again
Panel 1: Introduction of liberal/conservative position on topic of the day
Panel 2: Mallard expresses disbelief/agrees on position. Liberal character disagrees.
Panel 3: Liberal character's position continues to extreme or is twisted into easy to knock down strawman argument. Liberal character is in background and is in silhouette. Close up of Mallard with one raised eyebrow as he knocks down strawman.

Repeat
