Rand Paul campaign condemns attack, disowns volunteer

The Rand Paul campaign, unwilling to leave even a hint of doubt in the air as to its condemnation of last night's attack, which seems to be ballooning into a major political problem, releases a new statement unequivocally condemning the incident:

"The Paul for Senate campaign is extremely disappointed in, and condemns the actions of a supporter last night outside the KET debate. Whatever the perceived provocation, any level of aggression or violence is deplorable, and will not be tolerated by our campaign. The Paul campaign has disassociated itself from the volunteer who took part in this incident, and once again urges all activists -- on both sides -- to remember that their political passions should never manifest themselves in physical altercations of any kind."

That seems to suggest the Paul campaign has identified the assailant, or at least one of the participants. More when I learn it.

8. It's true, though... both sides are unwilling to live and let live
which what needs to happen if we're ever going to get along.

11. It's not true - the left is not beating people up, killing doctors and...
...threatening "second amendment remedies" - there's an enormous difference between the two sides and to lump them together only serves to diminish the violence on the right, which is exactly what it's meant to do.

When I watched that back in 2000, I realized that we were going to be in for a bumpy ride...

12. When has a teabagger ever been attacked at a progressive event?

"Both sides" is just the Randroid trying not to own the actions of his supporters.

IMO if he's gonna court these lunatics by speaking at events like the Oathkeepers rally then he can't just shrug them off when its politically expedient.

Rand owns this incident. He might as well have been there kicking with them.

25. You have GOT to be kidding.
Did you forget a "sarcasm" thingy or something?

Last time I checked, the left doesn't go around inciting violence like that.

3. They'll probably walk back on admitting he was one of their volunteers
I can just see it now, they'll look at Mezzano's Ron/rand Paul Meetup bio and because he stuck DU's name amongst his many other gun lovin'/conspiracy theoryin' interests, he'll be presented as a Democratic spy.

5. "urges all activists -- on both sides"
Right. Because we've heard soooo much about how all us hot headed lefties are beating up people. Peaceniks and pacifists are well known for that kind of action.

14. I noticed that too...
The "condemnation" came from the "campaign." I want to hear it from Paul's mouth.

And I want to hear more than, "I apologize to anyone who was offended by having her head stomped on."

17. There were at least two of them.
One guy restrained her and pushed her to the ground. The other guy did the stomp/shove on her head that appeared to make her head hit the ground. Both belong in jail.

24. How convenient for him.
Don't you just love the phoniness of these uber right wing assholes when they "condemn" near riotous actions that their own rhetoric caused to begin with?

My bullshit meter may need a new "extreme" setting added if this level of phoniness keeps happening. Otherwise, it could be destroyed if the needle keeps pegging like this.
