Hersh-BUSH "Taking Exec Privilege To Absolute Limit"-Secretly Funneling $ To Violent Al Qaeda Groups

Hersh: U.S. Funds Being Secretly Funneled To Violent Al Qaeda-Linked Groups

New Yorker columnist Sy Hersh says the “single most explosive” element of his latest article involves an effort by the Bush administration to stem the growth of Shiite influence in the Middle East (specifically the Iranian government and Hezbollah in Lebanon) by funding violent Sunni groups.

Hersh says the U.S. has been “pumping money, a great deal of money, without congressional authority, without any congressional oversight” for covert operations in the Middle East where it wants to “stop the Shiite spread or the Shiite influence.” Hersh says these funds have ended up in the hands of “three Sunni jihadist groups” who are “connected to al Qaeda” but “want to take on Hezbollah.”

Hersh summed up his scoop in stark terms: “We are simply in a situation where this president is really taking his notion of executive privilege to the absolute limit here, running covert operations, using money that was not authorized by Congress, supporting groups indirectly that are involved with the same people that did 9/11.”

7. No surprise there. Bin Laden's been on the payroll for years.
I once thought that notion was far-fetched; as time goes on, not so much.

10. If Sy says it, you can take it to the bank.
He is probably the ONLY reason we haven't invaded Iran yet...he busted them on their pre-emptive strike plans and collusion w/ Israel about going into Iran. They may be just putting it off, but Sy will prolly know about it before they go.

11. "supporting groups ... involved with the same people that did 9/11.”
. . . as some of us have been saying since 9/12. As with the Mafia, it's just internecine racketeering, but on a global scale.

9/11 was more than LIHOP, I know deep in my soul it was MIHOP, as was the bombing of the Golden Mosque just as Iraqis were uniting to get us out of their country.

16. Al Qaeda and the Iraqi Resistance Movement
(From 2005)
"Able Danger" and "Al Qaeda in Iraq"

The media in chorus presents "Al Qaeda in Iraq" headed by Al Zarqawi as responsible for the recent suicide bombings, without ever mentioning that Al Qaeda is a creation of the US intelligence apparatus. This relationship is acknowledged by the CIA and documented in numerous studies.(See http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=20010912&articleId=368 )

A recent report concerning a secret Pentagon operation, now being discussed in the US Congress, casts serious doubt not only on the official 9/11 narrative, but on the entire "war on terrorism" construct. In the case of Iraq, this construct consists in presenting the resistance movement as "terrorists":

"According to Army reserve Lieutenant-Colonel Anthony Shaffer, a top secret Pentagon project code-named Able Danger had identified Atta and three other 9/11 hijackers as members of an al-Qaida cell more than a year before the attacks.

Able Danger was an 18-month highly classified operation tasked, according to Shaffer, with “developing targeting information for al-Qaida on a global scale”, and used data-mining techniques to look for “patterns, associations, and linkages”. He said he himself had first encountered the names of the four hijackers in mid-2000." (See Daniele Ganser, Operation Able Danger,

22. It's much more important to call Cindy Sheehan names
I've heard little about this latest and maybe most impeachable event for the last week. Not even on Left wing radio shows or anything. Now the topic will move from Rosie to Cindy, and the important news will be buried by the "Liberal" media again.

I also wonder what the Democratic congress members are planning to do about this.
