Unreal: Fox News claims President Obama invoked racial segregation with his car analogy
Edited on Wed Oct-27-10 02:09 PM by bigtree
from Media Matters: http://mediamatters.org/research/201010270029

After President Obama made the analogy that Republican politicians should have to ride "in the back seat" after driving "this car," the United States, "into the ditch," Fox News figures have tried to claim that Obama made an "offensive" and "appalling" reference to racial segregation and "the back of the bus." They have yet to explain why Obama would want to compare himself to segregationists and his political opponents to civil rights hero Rosa Parks.

3. SOOO Obama should have said OK republicans take
control of the car. Since you did such a bang up job under Bush "we the majority should get in the back of the car" ........ No he should have just said "leave the driving to us, and by us I mean the Democrats"..use of a slogan

18. HA HA - Monica Crowley is calling for Obama to be IMPEACHED over this
Fox News contributor Monica Crowley said Obama's analogy was "appalling" and that if it had been a Republican president, "there might even be a movement to impeach at this point, but this man gets away with it." Crowley added:

21. While quite a ridiculous stretch, it does fit their teabagger strategy quite well
The whole teabagger "movement" is based on: the government is not them, you can't trust it, and Obama is likely a racist against white race.

I would hope that other MSM (CBS, NBC, ABC, Major Newspapers) will call them out on this and ridicule it, but I am not going to hold my breath.

People who think in such a manner use it to put the blinders on when true acts of racism happen. This is why bills like Arizona's SB 1070 pass and become law.

I think the Car Analogy was great, as it told SOME of the history well.. i know a few, who are furrious about it, and would rather do whatever they can, to fight it... But I like it, as it was really where the fact are...

But I doubt that mr Obama was refereing to racial segreating as in the "good old days"... When blacks allways know their right places.. In the back on the bus...

But of course, the right, right have allways twisted the facts, and is trying their best to tvist it the way they want it to be, even if the facts, and the life and facts is everything else..

I for one can not belive where all of the extreme right are coming from.. from I discovered this side, to this day i have seen more lunatics, more extremeist, and more wierd americans than I ever belived to exist... Where all this lunatic are coming from??. Is it so many lunatics in US?.... I have allways have that blue ayed belife that US was at least ruled by sane peoples.. But have to admit, that they might not been the fact anymore?
