Dept. of WTF -- AP headline: "Republicans, heading for big gains, ready agenda"
Did I miss something? Was the election-that-hasn't-happened-yet already tallied?

This does not even resemble responsible, objective, accurate journalism!

1. That's why Boehner's keeping a low profile. (I'm guessing a little nip and tuck), but
I'm not buying that it's fait accompli. Not by a long shot.

5. Exactly.
No way is it fait accompli. However, having the AP, an alleged responsible news outlet, present it as fait accompli is bound to discourage Democratic voters. Hopefully, the effect of such Republican-planted bullshit prognostications will infuriate Democrats into voting.

2. Damn librul media!
There is no journalism... responsible, objective, accurate are all journalistic ideals that died with journalism. What we have now is a propaganda machine. Nothing more.

3. Look for the Rs to hold a news conference on Nov 3 to outline
their agenda, irrespective of what the results happen to be.

They will attempt to create a new reality that they won, that those who won't admit the Rs won are just sore losers...while it's perfectly alright for RW pols to sling charges of D voter fraud around, while unleashing their herd of lawyers trained specifically for the task.

8. "...create a new reality that they won..."
Well put. And we've seen how tragically effective that was in 2000.

7. I am interested

The Republicans say they will have a mandate come next week...however

When Obama and the Dems swept into office 2 years ago THEY DIDN'T have a mandate?

This undoing is completely at the feet of the Dems. The party is a shell, completely sold out...if this was 1932, FDR would be easily defeated in election and we'd be a member of the Axis powers by 1940.

The Dems allowed it to happen. And while Ill vote, I am pissed off the party failed to take advantage of the political capital and huge majorities they enjoyed.

10. I'm starting to love these headlines
Here's my logic.

The more people fear they'll lose, the more motivated they'll be to vote, right? So by extension, the more comfortable Republicans feel with this election, the more likely that they won't be motivated to vote. On the flip side, everyone here knows that the more we see this "republicans win 100% of seats" bullshit, the more motivated we are to vote.

So in a round-about, fucked up way, thank you AP.

13. It is a last desperate act as the curtain is drawn back and you see
the APs true motives (thanks to their asshole leadership) for trying to cause people to vote for the GOPukers. I would say it should be illegal, but evidently crime is in high fashion with the DC/Wall Street jet set.
