Two predictions. One good, one very, very bad.
I predict the Democrats will retain the House and the Senate.

IF, I am wrong and the Repugs get the House AND the Senate then look for this:

More tax cuts (for big business mostly) and government safety-net program cuts.

And then......

All of a sudden, as if by miracle, the corporations will start hiring again. In a BIG way. Also, the Blue Dogs will start voting en masse with the Repugs and there will be BIPARTISANSHIP. All of
this will be aimed at taking the White House in 2012. "Why lookee here, the tax cuts worked!" ETC.

We will have two or three "good" years before Palin or Romney get in then "Whoa Nellie"! War and collapse.

Man, I hope I'm wrong about the second one. However, anyone else thinking along these lines?????

1. No. Corporations won't hire until they have customers
and until the demand side of the economic equation gets some support in this country, that is simply not going to be the case. Sales will still be down across the board and they'll expect other corporations to do the dirty work because they can't afford to.

What I do see if the GOP gets in is two years of solid gridlock, none of the country's urgent needs being addressed because the lunatics in that party have as their only purpose to disgrace Democrats and get them out of power. Once out, all they will do is bog Congress down in silly investigation after silly investigation, trying to turn up some pecadillo they can pretend is an impeachable offense. Remember, they start with a "guilty party" and devote 100% of their efforts to finding the crime.

Unfortunately, once a lunatic is in office, it's hard as hell to dislodge him in the next election, so people, please VOTE.

4. If you really wanted people to vote you should have thought of that over a year ago and courted the
votes, instead of insulting people, and ignoring others.

A bit late now.

So go ahead and blast me.

I really no longer care. Whatever floats your boat.

2. I agree they will start hiring again. They have been holding out to impact the elections.
This is pretty widely known.

3. That is my fear. I'm glad they will hire but the motive is bad. They
are supposedly sitting on over a trillion in cash.

5. Politicians don't understand "demand"...
"Demand" is when working people have money to buy things.

Unfortunately... all politicians understand is "Corporate Supply". The supply part being you and I .....paying, and paying.... and paying.....
