Bat crazy Jean Schmidt talks to 6-year-olds about abortion...
A Republican Congresswoman shocked teachers and students alike this month when she decided to talk about abortion to a classroom of 6-year-olds.

snip:
“She defined abortion as the taking of a child's life in the mother's womb,” Teller wrote in the letter. "She indicated that abortion involves the killing of a child before it is born."

Noting that Schmidt "was not invited to further any political agenda,” he apologized to parents "for any confusion or fear that this may elicit on the part of your child, and for the awkward position this may put you in of introducing a difficult issue at a time that may be premature for you."

snip:
Schmidt, up for re-election on Nov. 2, was quickly slammed by her Democratic opponent, who accused her of crossing the line.

"I consider the Congresswoman's comments to these children to be very concerning," Surya Yalamanchili said in a press release. "It showed the same awful judgment that she has displayed in Washington."

6. Will she suffer any consequences?
I also have to wonder about Principal Teller, inviting a politician to address the school in the weeks before an election and saying that she "was not invited to further any political agenda." What else would you expect her to do?

7. Politicians speak at schools all the time...
Most have enough brains to keep the topic age appropriate.

10. Gov. Boren of Oklahoma talked to my high school a few weeks before election...
He's a moderate repub and he talked about civic responsibility. Very good speech.

Normal people won't do what Jean Schmidt does. She knew she wasn't there to get votes in a room full of children. She's batshit crazy. The fault for this lies with her and no one else.

11. Oh, it's totally on Schmidt
But it's not like she's some kind of cipher. Her batshit crazy ways are pretty well known, and so I was questioning the wisdom of Principal Teller, especially with the pressure of the election coming on. Ah well. I still hope she suffers at the polls for being a nitwit, but considering that the people of her district keep returning her to office, I'm not sanguine.

...and my daughters play with her son, who is really a sweet little boy.

I was a bit ticked off one day, when they both came home (they were 7 and 8) and
asked me if it was true that Barack Obama killed babies.

His older sister, who was 14, told my children this. We had an Obama sign in our
front yard, too--so she knew we were supporters.

I was not happy at all.

I think people like this do that to children on purpose. Children can't possibly
understand reproductive rights issues, but the people spreading this kind of
sick stuff to children--very well know that.

15. Oh and check out this freak running for office too
Missy Reilly Smith, a republican candidate from the Democratic District of Columbia has two apparently very disturbing political ads airing on local stations in Washington D.C. These very graphic ads are being aired multiple times a day, during the afternoon and evening, and are so vivid that they have been banned from YouTube.

Apparently these ads involve bloody and dismembered fetuses, and have been airing over the past few days.

This has caused quite an uproar with many people. They are wondering why such horrifically graphic ads are being allowed to air on our local television stations.

Federal communications law requires local stations to carry any and all ads by qualified federal candidates, to make sure no broadcaster has the power to oppose or censor any candidates by limiting their access to the airwaves.
