THE place was packed with a line out the door. it's the last day and I'd expect it to be crowded, but there is definitely something new going on here. I can't tell who is voting, Democrat or republican, but there was a healthy representation of minority voters (actually a good representation of the entire community) which gives me hope. There was a rather poignant scene right in front of us, where a black family had helped their struggling elder (MS or some muscular malady) to the polls and into the voting booth. It's just inspiring to see that level of determination to participate in our democracy. In fact, the entire process always fills me with a reverence and pride in being a part of something so unifying (despite our differences, perhaps, in candidates). I become an awkward child in the face of such sincerity and quiet strength of purpose. I am positively transformed by the act. And, I got a sticker.

2. High voter turnout tends to be good for the everyman.
Let it be so.

3. And I love your description.
Voting, IMO, is sacred, and I love how you've described your experience.
