After several rough weeks on the campaign trail, a new poll out of Alaska shows Republican Joe Miller has fallen to last place in the three-way Senate race.

A Hays Research Group poll released Thursday showed write-in candidates, presumably meaning Sen. Lisa Murkowski, in the lead with 34 percent, Democrat Scott McAdams with 29 percent and Miller with 23 percent. Murkowski is waging a write-in bid since losing the Republican primary to Miller.

5. If you spell her name wrong does it still count?
Could be that McAdams wins be default.

9. It still counts
I read at least two articles where the Sec of State has already determined that if the spelling is close then it counts -- as well it should

13. strange that "Close enough" might get her in the office ... yet ...
when someone writes "GORE! GORE! GORE!" in the write-in portion of the Florida ballot, "you can't determine the intentions of the voter from a 'spoiled' ballot!" ...

16. It will open up a whole "hanging chad" thing, which may take
weeks to sort out, but I really don't care how long it takes if the end result is "Senator McAdams"!

6. The thing is though, will a write-in bid actually materialize at the voting booth? Very volatile.

11. One question though: who would Murkowski caucus with?
While she wouldn't kowtow to the tea partiers, the establishment Republicons would welcome her back with open arms. Either way, we lose.

20. Actually credit would be due McConnell
When De Mint wanted to strip her of her committee leadership positions Mc Connell refused.
That's the reason why she said she'd caucus with the republikkans

18. Her positions and Miller's are remarkably similar - she's just
much more sophisticated in terms of knowing how to couch those positions in a more moderate fashion, thus sucking in more naive sheeple.

19. She had the lousy luck to have been seeking re-nomination

in a year that a lot of GOP'ers were willing to go with any inexperienced fool over an establishment Republicon. Fortunately for her, she's got a small voting population to work with, and a tea partier who was able to completely self-destruct before rather than after the general election.
