Betty White Likes Older Men, and Is Fine With Me Marrying One

I know, this isn't politics. Maybe some people might think this is silly and trivial. But it made my day. god, I love Betty White. Golden Girl and marriage equality supporter. :-)


In a new interview with Parade, Betty White talks health, older men, and gay men's love of The Golden Girls. But unlike many of her eightysomething contemporaries, Betty, who is 88-1/2 years old, is an outspoken advocate of marriage equality.

Says Betty:

"Gays love old ladies. I don’t care who anybody sleeps with. If a couple has been together all that time—and there are gay relationships that are more solid than some heterosexual ones—I think it’s fine if they want to get married. I don’t know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your affairs, and don’t worry about other people so much."

It's nice to hear such wisdom from our elders. And despite her crush on Robert Redford, who is 14 years her junior, Betty says she prefers an older man. "I’ve always liked older men. They’re just more attractive to me. Of course, at my age there aren’t that many left!”

And a great way to start my day. I'm a 72-year-old woman and agree with Betty 100%. If only people would MYOB and keep their mouths shut! And now that I know Robert Redford is 74, I must say I too prefer older men!
