LV Casino CEO Scared of Losing Harry Reid
Last week a CEO of one of the big LV casinos was on the financial news network, CNBC. He was visibly distraught. I was shocked to hear why. He is scared to death of losing Harry Reid in the US Senate. He said that the "gaming" industry is a soft target in Washington (you know, all the Christian right/values crap)and that Nevada is going to become a national scapegoat which should all but shut that state down. He basically called Angle a "lying" pig who is already undermining the business and is frightened what damage she will do to Nevada if she replaces Reid. Soooo, maybe these guys should have gotten off their asses and very loudly pushed for Reid and explained things to the people who are already hard pressed for work???

1. Ok, I may get in trouble...but the guy you're talking about is Jim Murren
and he has been very visible here supporting Harry Reid. He's a life-long republican and notes that before he goes on and on about Harry and his disdain for the nutjob running against her.

2. Joy---thanks
I didn't catch his name because his message blew my mind......I mean I'm used to these financial networks preaching from the pulpits that Dems will destroy this country. That guy sure as hell hates Angle. (Hmmmm...think a Christian right wack job is a little more dangerous to LV business than, say, Obama's remarks about corporations throwing big bashes there when the economic world was collapsing?

3. Hedging their bets?
If Angle does win, John Ensign becomes senior senator.

Isn't his step father a big to do in the casino industry?

5. Why don't they just contribute a couple hundred million bucks to Reid and the DSCC?
That would tell me what they really want.

7. Well, she was quoted in 2006 as being in favor of bringing back Prohibition.
I can certainly see why positions like that would frighten Casino owners.

10. Seriously
“I would tell you that I have the same feelings about legalizing marijuana, not medical marijuana, but just legalizing marijuana,” Angle offered. “I feel the same about legalizing alcohol.

“The effect on society is so great that I’m just not a real proponent of legalizing any drug or encouraging any drug abuse,” she continued. “I’m elected by the people to protect, and I think that law should protect.”

And they call Democrats 'nanny staters.' *sigh*

11. Just watched the cnbc clip. You nailed it.
He said at the end that he wants Republicans to take a lot of seats, just not "this seat". Apparently, being Speaker of the House gets the banks to return calls when the casinos need money. Screw the rest of the country, I got mine (and all that).
