Would Crist have to caucus with either party or could he forgo committee assignments?

1. He would pick one. Without caucusing with a party he might as well pull out of the race

but if he wants to do anything but vote, which is where the real power is, he must chose a caucus. I think he will go with whoever gets control, should he be elected.

But all the polling I've seen shows Rubio will be caucusing with Republicans and planning his run for the White House in 2016

But he would be the most worthless senator ever with no committee assignments.

I suppose he could submit his own organizing resolution, but he would have to negotiate with both leaders, who would be under no obligation to cede him committee seats, which would come at the expense of members of their own caucuses.
