Phone rings. Hello.
Some guy on the other end says they are from the republican party.

I say: Screw you. Not very liberal, I know, but I am smiling.

2. I think you're allowed to do that, no matter how liberal you are.
In fact, I believe it's mandatory.

3. I enjoy stringing them along
I got a call this year telling me the DFL candidtate supports a single payer plan for Minnesota. The call was dishonest becasue they did not tell me who they were calling for (like I couldn't guess) I pretended to be surprised and after a few sentences of playing cat & mouse I told them "I'm so glad you told me about this. It's time we joined the rest of the civilized world - you bet Candidate X will have my vote."

They hung up.

8. Keep them online as long as possible
Agree with everything they say and keep them from talking to others who might vote for their candidate.

Every minute costs the GOP money. Suck them dry.

10. Engage them in conversation
then start talking crazy shit. Put the fear of their own Party into them.

15. Now that is good strategy.
If everyone on DU did just that, just think about how much money that would cost the GOP! Makes me giggle.

14. Me, too.
Had one come to my door during the last election. He was running for some local office. I told him I wouldn't vote for him or anyone else from his party if he held a gun to my head. Then I told him to get the hell off my property.

6. A bunch of teabagger Repukes had some tables set up at an intersection I walk through
almost daily, their signs for the candidate didn't say what party, so I went over and asked what office he was running for and his party affiliation. WHen they said "Republican" I just said "I'm NOT interested!!" and walked away. Now I just ignore them. They are clearly teabaggers from the stuff they spew to each other.

9. Phone harassment
Your phone’s gonna ring in the darkness of night,
And you’ll rise from the bed where you lay.
And you’ll answer “hello” and from out of the past
A voice you once loved is gonna say:

Vote Republican.

16. Fundraising calls (especially the ones for the party) are often done by paid people
But state & local raises, the GOTV phoning in the last week or so before the election is more apt to be volunteers. At least in my area.

22. I usually let them do their spiel, just to keep them from calling other voters
Who might be more susceptible to their crap. Then when they are done, I tell them they must have the wrong house since I would not vote for a Republican if they held a gun to my head. Then I hang up on them. Last week Karl Rove and Mike Huckabee called me - I had not known Huckabee had moved to Florida. Oh, my poor state!

When the Democratic calls come in, I save them time and tell them right away that I do not need convincing and for them to call someone who does. Then I thank the caller for their time in volunteering since I cannot do it this year.
