Woud that have helped the Democrats if they had shown the Repubs are only for taxcuts for the wealthy?

Now, after the elections, that will probably be the first item on the agenda. I would guess it will be extended for everyone, including the millionaires. Big mistake, in my opinion. The Democrats should take a stand on this issue.

But, in hindsight, the Democrats should have forced a vote on the Bush taxcuts and should not have listened to a few fearful Blue Dogs. It looks like the "Blue Dogs" will lose anyway and drag down the rest of the Party at the same time. Just my opinion.

1. Hard to say. Republicans would've likely tried to amend the Bill to include

tax cuts for "all" Americans. And then the tables would be turned if the democrats had to vote against the amended bill, denying tax cuts to the middle class.

2. Let's work on the Obama tax cuts.

he could let all the bush cuts expire. Work up a rebate for the middle class for 11 and pass something of his own.

6. Why didn't he do that in '09 when he had solid majorities?

Why put it off two years when things could change and he might not have those majorities?

3. Tax cuts, repeal DADT, anything where they would have actually put up a fight

Shown some spine. I think that is one of the key things that are discouraging voters, on popular issues, big issues, the Dems haven't shown any fight. I believe it is that frustration that is going to keep a lot of people home.

Running against the Tea Party nuts should have been a gimmee. I mean really now, Angle, Paul, O'Donnel, they are seriously up front about their insanity. But voters who were all excited about change in '08 have watched as big pieces of change go slipping through their grasp as Dems are "bipartisan", "reach out", and back down time and again. A stimulus not bloated with tax cuts, the public option, repealing DADT, ending tax cuts for the rich, these are among the popular pieces of legislation that Dems have failed to fight for. A lot of voters wonder why they should crank it up for Obama and the Dems again when the Congress and President they fought to get into DC haven't cranked it up for them.

Any sort of Congressional smack down of the 'Pugs would have helped, and they were given two golden opportunities at the proverbial last minute. But as they've done since they got into office, they backed down and went home.

4. I tend to agree that they were too timid...

...and decided to just play it safe.

There were several issues they could have taken a stand on that would have inspired the voters. But they did not.

7. The Democratic leadership doesn't want to get rid of the tax cuts for the wealthy.

They want to decide the issue later, after they're in a more "compromising" position, if you follow me.
