Think that's the first estimate I've seen of the crowd size so far.

Edited the subject line to include the info from the National Park Service in the second reply below.

1. The Mythbuster guys referred to the crowd being 150,000.
200,000 sounds about right, though--will be interesting to see how Faux news spins this. Expect they'll say it's fewer by a 100,00-150,00 or so. If they cover it at all...

4. That was very early on. Traffic was apparently really bad and held people up.
I'm sure it got to at least 250,000. And the 300,000 estimate sounds possible as well.

11. If they estimated 150,000 at any one time, 250,000 overall
There were a LOT of people on the side streets and a lot of people came and left during the day. The crowd was constantly moving.

3. Thanks! Just edited the subject line to include that.
I think that was the NPS estimate for the Beck rally, too.

8. You're right. I wonder if beac's reply about what was reported on NBC
was an unofficial estimate from someone with NPS.

Googling this, trying to find any info...

7. So, were people standing in the reflection pool?
The bit I caught showed a lot of smiling people. The polar opposite of Whitestock.
