Michael Moores advice to you "Obama let us down" -ers
Too bad the majority party has done precious little to bring about the change for which the majority voted. Yes, change takes time. But try telling that to someone who hasn't worked in two years. Or who hears the knock of the foreclosure sheriff at the door. The booted-up minority knows how to make hay in a situation like this. All they need is us, the disappointed, dismayed, disgusted us.

What say you? Stay home and punish the weak-kneed, sell-out Democrats? Or spend every free moment you have between now and Tuesday trying to protect what little progress has been made so we can live to fight another day (even if it is with “allies” like a Democratic Party that will more than likely still not get the message of what they need to do -- and has, in fact, spent much of the past two years giving progressives the boot)? Perhaps our job, post-election, is to provide a gentle but swift boot in the bee-hind of the party whose mascot is an ass.

Right now, we've got 112 hours. Seems like enough.

Yours,
Michael Moore

From " A Boot to The Head"

That makes the point quite eloquently. Still time to do some good, campers. Leave this place a littel better than you found it.

4. Thank you, Michael for speaking your truth and giving a reality
check to people who are disappointed but must realize that they have no choice and we have to at least have a chance. With the Dems., at least we have a chance.....

10. How exactly is either a vote or a refusal to vote a "boot in the ass"?
Voting is hardly a way to influence the party of lesser evil. Refusing to vote will also fail to influence the party of lesser evil.

For any of these things to matter we'd have to live in a democracy with real choices. We don't and there aren't any. I don't thing that anyone is "voting against Democrats" to teach them a lesson. I think they're just demoralized and don't see the point of participating any more in a system that produces no possibility of substantive reform.

It will go the way it goes. If President Obama was still Candidate Obama, the Democrats would be the party of something and they'd win in a landslide.

The truth is, whether the Democrats win or lose, the country moves to the right because there is no opposition to the right. There are only calls for civility and smartness and moderation. You can vote for the people killing you, or you can vote for the people pleading not to be murdered. There is no hero is this movie. Of course the hero is us, but we're too busy waiting for the hero in the movie.

11. Well some of us have not accepted the fate you choose

Voting for Democrats at least gives you a fighting chance to reverse this tide you are laying down for. The boot in the ass comes...nevermind, you've already given up.

13. "Spite the Democrats by Voting for them"?
or "we're not letting you off this easy, Dems"?
