WVIT TV in Hartford CT just broadcast the strangest WWE commercial during the "Ellen" show
It was a commercial about the WWE "Divas" promoting them as strong role models for women. No mention of the WWE TV shows or a local event (they just had one on Saturday in Hartford)

Of course, ex-WWE CEO Linda McMahon is running for Senate and her opposition ran commercials attacking WWE business practices.

Just wondering if anyone outside Connecticut is seeing this commercial, during "Ellen" or during other times other than WWE programming. Otherwise, it seems the WWE, which had made it legally possible to wear WWE clothing inside polling places despite the inherent conflict, just ran a commercial in CT as an advertising expense (not a political expense) promoting Ms. McMahon's ex-company.

2. Oh, I'd say when a certain someone announced her candidacy...
I'll give you three guesses. First two don't count.

5. Exactly,
This is nothing other than a campaign commercial.

the Divas. I remember Lita and the moves she could do. But strong role models? When they are half naked? Linda is pushing the WWE PG era hard. They changed their wrestling a lot in the last few years to make it "cleaner" to not offend people as Linda was planning on running for the Senate. But I don't buy it, not after years of what Vince and Linda put out. I didn't mind the crazy wrestling but Linda is a fake and a fraud.

4. I agree, but here's the thing that gets to me
The way this was done makes the commercial (which I never saw before) an advertising expense for the WWE, in other words a tax deductible business expense so you and I pay for it, BUT it inherently promotes Ms. McMahon as she is tied to that company.

Very sleazy

6. Well, sleaze is the McMahon's middle name and always has been.

9. I haven't seen the WWE commercial but ...
I think I saw a Clinton/Clinton 2012 commercial during Ellen today.

10. I read on one of the wrestling news sites
That Vince has started up a "Stand Up for WWE" campaign because he thinks they are being attacked.
