Obama Goes To India To Create More American Jobs Yet Some Prefer The Bullshit
Edited on Sat Nov-06-10 01:59 PM by KittyWampus
spin that he wants more outsourcing.

When will the Left ever wake and realize that a good amount of what is posted on Liberal forums is intentionally put here to mislead and sow dissent amongst the Left?

And it's sad that so many Lefties, who you'd think would know better, just passively lap up the bullshit rather than seek out what actually happens and what actually gets said by Obama and Democrats.

1. It is a huge problem. They add to the misinformation campaigns of the Republicans instead of
fighting them.

3. Its the loud segment of the left made up of prejudiced assholes who don't want to bother to read.
If they think they can get away with jumping to a conclusion that reflects badly on Barack Obama, they will take it in a second. They don't care about the truth.

4. I grew up when it seemed about 2/3's of the country was in the middle, now
we hear mostly from extremes and the rational center IMO gets drowned out.

7. I hear you on that!
The idea that you don't compromise at all from both the extreme right and left, is not helping matters at all, and when those on the left actually stay home and don't vote, or come on boards like this just to trash the president, it's no wonder the right can win elections! While the extreme right is crazy as hell, at least they got out and voted this year while many who call themselves democrats didn't bother! Yes we need real change, and we can only get that by putting in real democrats during the primaries so we don't have to stay home because there is somebody running we can't stand. We also have learn that in order to get real change we may have to start small and then work up. Health care is a prime example. Sure we need single payer but there was no way on earth to get that with all the blue dogs voting with republicans, but we did get something that is helping to keep health care companies from kicking people out when they get sick, or allowing those with pre-existing conditions to allowed to get health care, and we can keep our children on our policies till they turn 26, plus a lot more. It's a start we can work on, but not if we can't get the bills passed because we don't have enough votes!

For those on the left who are ready to give up, just remember what it was like with Bush. Do you really want a president Palin in the WH and republicans in charge of both houses of congress?

6. K&R Excellent point
I totally agree with you, and after reading so much of the anti Obama BS this week I too wonder how people who have been around here for years and years can buy into this crap! Now I know there are a lot of trolls posting here, and usually they get removed after obvious right wing posting, but some trolls seem to last longer than others, and there always seems to be a fresh supply of the coming in when others get removed. It seems like for every post showing positive things about the president and what he and congress have accomplished, there are dozens more that go up "bashing" him and congress. Now I don't agree with "everything" the president has done, and I certainly think congress could have done better to support some issues, but they have done one hell of a lot in less than two years, and to see the same posters constantly bashing them really gets to me!

It also seems like some really good posts "for" the president, get unreced while pure BS posts get all kinds of rec's! Any post that says they are "done" with the president always make me wonder just who the hell is behind that post! Even if we are not happy with everything, or are not happy because some of our priorities have not been addressed by president Obama, does not mean we should "dump" him and give up. I mean what are these posters going to do when they are "done" with president Obama, go over to the republicans?

Thank your for posting this, and I hope the trolls don't jump in and unrec to death!

10. what actually happens; we have been living through it since the 70s
the rich get richer, our jobs keep going overseas, and we keep getting tinkled on.

i know, it's all in our heads, we are just too stupid to see the genius of the master plan they have in store for all of us.

11. Yes, some do prefer hearing bullshit considering they fall for it
every single time.

"Today we turn to face the challenge of our own
hemisphere, our own country, our own economic fortunes. In a few
moments, I will sign three agreements that will complete our
negotiations with Mexico and Canada to create a North American Free
Trade Agreement. In the coming months I will submit this pack to
Congress for approval. It will be a hard fight, and I expect to be
there with all of you every step of the way. (Applause.)

We will make our case as hard and as well as we can.
And, though the fight will be difficult, I deeply believe we will win.
And I'd like to tell you why. First of all, because NAFTA means jobs.
American jobs, and good-paying American jobs. If I didn't believe
that, I wouldn't support this agreement.

snip

I believe that NAFTA will create 200,000 American jobs in
the first two years of its effect. I believe if you look at the
trends -- and President Bush and I were talking about it this morning
-- starting about the time he was elected president, over one-third of
our economic growth, and in some years over one-half of our net new
jobs came directly from exports. And on average, those export-related
jobs paid much higher than jobs that had no connection to exports.

I believe that NAFTA will create a million jobs in the
first five years of its impact. And I believe that that is many more
jobs than will be lost, as inevitably some will be as always happens
when you open up the mix to a new range of competition.

NAFTA will generate these jobs by fostering an export
boom to Mexico; by tearing down tariff walls which have been lowered
quite a bit by the present administration of President Salinas, but
are still higher than Americans.

snip

Many Americans are still worried that this agreement will
move jobs south of the border because they've seen jobs move south of
the border and because they know that there are still great
differences in the wage rates. There have been 19 serious economic
studies of NAFTA by liberals and conservatives alike; 18 of them have
concluded that there will be no job loss.

Businesses do not choose to locate based solely on wages.
If they did, Haiti and Bangladesh would have the largest number of
manufacturing jobs in the world. Businesses do choose to locate based
on the skills and productivity of the work force, the attitude of the
government, the roads and railroads to deliver products, the
availability of a market close enough to make the transportation costs
meaningful, the communications networks necessary to support the
enterprise. That is our strength, and it will continue to be our
strength. As it becomes Mexico's strength and they generate more
jobs, they will have higher incomes and they will buy more American
products."

It horseshit then and it's horseshit now.

'No big' outcomes expected from Obama's India trip

India is not expecting any "big bang" results from the forthcoming visit of US President Barack Obama, India's Foreign Secretary has said.

(,,,)

"We are not at a stage in our relationship perhaps for another big bang but certainly there will be positive outcomes ," Ms Rao told a meeting in Delhi.

21. Maybe in some way not available to your imagination?
this is not impossible. Trade with them could increase jobs. Maybe there are points about which to argue that, but you haven't brought it up. You're just simply assuming that it's impossible.

20. One thing I've learned about DU is there is a lot of
hatred of India for taking our jobs via H-1Bs or via outsourcing. This have become a pervasive hatred of India and Indians. Any idea of trading with them is somehow always seen as to their advantage. Apparently US Presidents should never even speak with those godawful Indians! Job stealers all.

There is no reasoning with the mentality because the economy is absolutely a zero sum game to them. It's us or them. They should stay poor or we cannot be well off.

23. Boeing business deals are making out well - 22,000 + jobs.
GE also.

A White House statement said the deals included a preliminary agreement between Boeing and the Indian Air Force for 10 C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft, in a deal valued at 4.1 billion dollars and expected to support 22,160 jobs.

Sat, 06 Nov 2010 14:25:15 GMT

A slew of business deals between India and the United States totalling 10 billion US dollars would support over 50,000 jobs in the US, President Barack Obama said at a summit of business leaders in Mumbai Saturday.

Obama was in India's financial hub on the first leg of a four-nation tour of Asia with an eye on economic opportunities - days after his Democratic Party received a drubbing in midterm elections largely due to voter anger over high unemployment and slow economic recovery.

Several of the 20 deals Obama referred to were already on the cards and it was not clear how many new jobs would be created.
