Did anyone else see the entrepreneur on Morning Joe laugh at Joe's argument re tax cuts for top 2%?
Here's a guy dedicated to raising lots of money for great causes and who is personally extremely wealthy. In the segment right before he came on Joe was once again doing his specious rationale for the rich getting tax cuts.

The entrepreneur (I think his name was Robinson. I had never heard of him before) laughed and said "We don't need a tax cut."

Nary a word from Joe or Mika.

I had thought Joe was gonna talk about greening the environment. What happened to THAT discussion? It would have been worth seeing if a good guest was on...hmmm, maybe Joe's backing off his "caring" about the environment???

2. Oh I think this guy really meant it. He didn't have to say that. Clearly, it was
off the subject which was basically about his career -- I give him credit him for being honest and for using his wealth to benefit people.

6. I don't think he will back away.
i don't think he is a Republican. He appears to be a very generous and compassionate man. Nothing there says Republican.

11. I meant JOE was the one who would back away from the environmental programming.

This guy Simmons is great and I don't think he is a Republican.

Joe, on the other hand, is a Republican, which is why I think he'll get into hot water with his party if he pushes "too green" an agenda...

5. Yes, I understood him to have meant what he said.
There was no sign of a smirk or anything similar on his face. He was, IMO completely serious when he said the millionaires do not need continuation of the tax cut.

3. Yesterday Joey was ranting about Middle class entitlements
Here is a guy with a seven figure salary complaining about programs to help the middle class. He may as well have said 'Let them eat cake'.

7. Russell Simmons had a similar display of character
When he spoke of getting a tax break he doesn't need. This caused blank looks again by Joe and Mika.

13. That was clearly NOT what Joe was expecting with Simmons.
What Joe is pushing here is that rich people are GOOD because they donate their money to the poor and the underserved (and the environment) so we don't have to depend on big, bad government. THAT was Joe's agenda for having Simmons on. Joe doesn't give 2 sh*ts about Simmons's philanthropic projects and I think Simmons realized that. His remark about not needing the tax break was meant to ZING Joe right in the butt....hee hee, Joey fell for it!!

and to destroy all social agencies that protect people from predators in the business sector. It's all about deregulating a system so that criminals run the show.

And Joe is one of those cheerleaders for criminals.

10. Well paid talk radio and television hosts are pushing on this idea
that middle Americans will be adversely affected. These people at the top of the industry have million dollar contracts.
