Does it ever feel like Democrats with fresh ideas are continually marginalized?
It seems that way to me. It feels like the Democratic Party is ultimately made up of Washington insiders more interested in protecting the status quo and their own behinds than introducing new ideas or truly promoting the interests of the people who vote for them. It seems like every time someone comes in with truly fresh ideas who actually are the slightest bit progressive, they are hammered by the media and those with the Democratic Party itself. Frankly, I read a lot of political threads on this site and elsewhere, but I don't post a ton. Why? My own personal frustration of being a progressive Democratic person who grew up in a progressive Democratic family who just sees it over and over and over. For God sakes, I'm only 35 too. I am as involved as time allows me to be. I call and write letters to my representatives. I speak my mind in social situations respectively and eloquently, but most people are so filled with apathy that it feels hopeless most of the time.

Example is Kucinich. Are his ideas really that "wacked-out" or out of the mainstream? Are they really that leftist? I don't think so. Read his platform and you tell me. Other first world nations wouldn't think so. What's wrong with us?

I think I, and many people here (as well as solid Democrats all over the country) are mad as Hell, but feeling like "Dammit, what can I do now?" We'll keep fighting, but it worries me that it will take my whole life and a terrible national (or global) Depression, continued death, and other terrible tragedies before anything remotely gets done (if ever).

Just commiserating I suppose. :(

5. The Conservative Democrats have the same disease
as Conservative Republicans. Attack and marginalize anyone
whose ideas just might have a liberal bent.

Their pro-business loyalties trump everything else.

7. We don't attack the consevative bent.
Those in charge seem to cave and continually embrace it. That's the difference.

6. So if everyone votes for Kucinich, their asses won't be so shiney.
