2. I don't think they are trying to warn or prepare us, what they
are doing is enabling this bunch of criminals, just like they did when the same bunch of criminals invaded Iraq. They could give a shit about us. They are zeroing in on the total idiots among us to get the approval needed for Bushco to invade Iran.

3. And by "accidental" they mean "planned all along"
Or at the very least, since the Axis of Evil made it's first official appearance in a speech.

between the rhetoric used then and now; the thinking is that it worked then so they are using it now

6. I suppose they all have fallout shelters and

a few years' supply of food and water, so why should they care?

We had Civil Defense public fallout shelters in this country in the Fifties. It's criminal that we don't have them today.

8.  I saw a TV show not long ago about people building shelters
This year , new shelters and re-vamped old shelters .

Personally I would rather be vaporized than to crawl out into a bombed out world .

I have had a lifetime of this sort of nuclear war threats and I am done with it .

No disrespect to you intended , just my own personal perspective here .

The nuclear threats will never end as long as man intends to have this sort of so called safe standoff , there is nothing safe about it .

We seemed to be getting close when the countries were beginning to agree on cutting out the weapons but since bush climbed into office this with many other things are on or off some sort of table .

Perhaps the only way man will finally learn is when they fire their bombs and see the actual result .

12. I don't think "the man" will learn, though.

If the rich and powerful can live comfortably in their fallout shelters until the danger is over, they won't care about the dead -- remember New Orleans! I wonder if they've got enough peons slated to enter the "servants' quarter" shelters, because a civilization can't be rebuilt by people whose agricultural skills are just occasionally clearing brush or shooting cage-raised quail.

Dylan summed it all up long ago so I've posted the lyrics at the end of the thread.

21.  I guess they will use the ones who serve them now
The select group of whitehouse servants and others who survive the blasts and fallout for as long as they can , as they do now with the population that they could care less about .

9. If only the media would play this. . .

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

Hillary Clinton calls Iran a threat to US, Israel

NEW YORK - Calling Iran a danger to the US and one of Israel’s greatest threats, US senator and presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said no option can be taken off the table’ when dealing with that nation.

US policy must be clear and unequivocal: We cannot, we should not, we must not permit Iran to build or acquire nuclear weapons,’ the Democrat told a crowd of Israel supporters. In dealing with this threat ... no option can be taken off the table.’

Clinton spoke at a Manhattan dinner held by the largest pro-Israel lobbying group in the U.S., the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Some 1,700 supporters applauded as she cited her efforts on behalf of the Jewish state and spoke scathingly of Iran’s decision to hold a conference last month that questioned whether the Holocaust took place.

20. Yeah, when AIPAC says "Jump!", the Dems just ask "How high?"
I am so sick of hearing how Iran "must not be permitted" to have nukes. Oh really? Whose permission did Israel get for their nukes? Whose permission did Pakistan and India get? Whose permission did China get?

And whose permission did the U.S. -- the ONLY country to ever actually USE nuclear weapons -- who "permitted" US to get them?

I'd say that Iran sorely NEEDS a nuclear deterrent right now to protect itself from attack by a rogue superpower. The Iranian government is not suicidal, the only "threat" that a nuclear-armed Iran represents is the "threat" of not being subject to being bullied and pushed around by other belligerent powers.

Accidental wars. It means if somebody on one side gets an itchy trigger finger, the response may be so big that war is inevitable.

18. 'accidental' could very well be their 'excuse'
oops!

that is JUST the level of honesty i've come to expect from this administration too. seeing as they've not one shred of credibility left, its hard to believe they could come up with a 'convincing' justification for a war so they've been left with an 'oops'. it does seem odd that they'd think that this would work though. i can see an 'oops, didn't mean to shoot at yer border crossing guys', or 'oops, didn't mean to shoot up yer coast guard boat', but NOT remotely an 'oops, didn't mean to launch four consecutive waves of fighters and bombers at yer nation'
