Google Transit
You can now plan public transportation journeys using Google Maps in select cities. Only the major cities, which probably already have trip planners on their transportation agencies websites anyway, so I'm not sure what the advantage is. But if anyone's interested, here's the link:

1. I've tried it a couple of times for TheBus (Honolulu)
it always seems to want to make me walk farther than I think prudent.

We're a major city? When did that happen? :eyes: And we had not had a trip planner before; in fact, for a long time, they had a line basically apologizing (mostly to prospective Japanese visitors, I would imagine) for not having one. And isn't Duluth on Google Transit? Compared to that, we are a major city!

I just glanced over the page and the names I saw were places like San Fransisco and Portland, which I'm pretty sure already have trip planners on their transit authorities' sites. Somehow, I think it'll be a long time until the service gets extended to where I live (Columbia, SC). With the city's skeleton bus service, I'm not sure a trip planner is even viable.
