(I also posted a thread.)

I can tell you from first hand experience that the Irish Catholic bond is VERY strong -- Kennedy and Biden remind me of my dad and his friends...

1. That would be a great endorsement.
Why don't most voters consider Joe a serious candidate. My dad - a lifelong democrat - says that Joe is "unelectable" and is consistently needling me for supporting Biden. I am ashamed to say he is a Hillary supporter.

2. As a Delawarean,

I think a lot of it comes from the fact that our state is so small. I can remember when my kids were in high school, we traveled a lot with a Drum and Majorette Corps to competitions and we were often asked, especially anywhere off the East Coast, What state is Delaware in? I have read on Du comments referring to the size of Delaware and therefore Joe Biden cannot be a viable candidate. It is my opinion though, that no matter what state he was from he would still be an outstanding Senator and candidate.

3. Who would have thought a young governor from
Arkansas would become president? Though Delaware may be small, Biden has been a national figure for a long time.

8. That's a good point -- that size matters (forgive me). I'd run into the same
problems when I'd tell people I was from Seattle, Washington. So many didn't even know there was a Washington STATE.

Biden's foreign relations experience has given him more experience than many senators from any of the states, although obviously not ENOUGH exposure :) for which I'm grateful.

4. I think a lot of Democrats
believe the media hype.

As for your dad, it could be worse - he could be a republican!!!

7. It's possible that your dad is believing the hype -- as are too many other
people. If you took Clinton and Obama out of the equation, I think Joe would be far ahead of the remaining candidates -- he'd eat Edwards up.

Have your dad convert to Catholicism, tell him you discovered his ancestors came from the Old Sod, pour him a Scotch and we'll have him!
