1. Chris Dodd arguing now

He talks about the Bush immunity clause and the problems with it. He's saying that the old FISA bill gave the telecoms immunity when serving court orders. He's tearing the arguments for immunity apart. Go Chris! Now I want to see what Joe has to say!

2. He was on the floor this afternoon - then came back tonight and spoke for

2 1/2 hours! I didn't get it. I was calling his office to see if he was filibustering -- I just didn't understand why he was doing that when the rest of the Senators had gone home.

Anyway, he quit - and if he has to filibuster tomorrow, I hope he gets a lot of sleep tonight!

If you listened to all 2 1/2 hours, it was pretty amazing the topics he covered besides FISA (which again, is why I thought he was filibustering). He KNOWS there was surveillance going on BEFORE 9/11. He's one pissed off man. I could see Joe and Dodd tearing Bush apart big time!

but he was definitely fired up. I thought the same thing you did; that he was filibustering. I couldn't believe he talked that long either. He and Biden definitely make a great team.

5. The amendment passed

Chris Dodd called it a "dark day" in our history. A little more info found at www.dodd.senate.gov It is ludicrous that the Constitution can be repeated and willfully ignored. The telecoms didn't deserve immunity from this issue and neither does Bush and the CIA. What happened to the idea of liberty and personal freedom? Who is to stand up for us and protect us? I can't believe all of the injustices perpetrated against the American public!
