to see Oregon's addition to the Democratic majority in the US Senate with this fall's landslide. I'm looking forward to the next 16 years being as fun as the past 8 have been hopelessly depressing. Don't you FEEL it?

1. things are feeling better

I was watching the KO and Rachel Maddow clip on MSNBC.com where they said, can you believe Bush just turned this into an election of Obama vs. Bush on Middle East policy? and Rachel was astounded at the language the GOP is using to describe their chances with other offices this fall.

As awful as was Bush said was, maybe it was just outrageous enough to help unite the Dems, make McCain look like a fool, and paint the contrast clearly for even those who don't follow politics.

And it's always a good day when Biden is the must-get guest on all the news shows :)

2. I'm over-the-top with the next 16 years being fun, now that I reflect on it...

nothing but serious, difficult challenges ahead on so many fronts. But damnit, anyway... the thought of no Bush/Cheney - the thought of a progressive Congress - just gives me so MUCH hope. I'm SUCH a closet optimist!

4. I'm excited too

I am extremely optimistic about increased control in the U.S. Senate and House.....
I am hoping this will pull through on the State and local levels too.

With these recent elections and the gains seen from them. I feel very confident this will continue in the fall.
In fact I am counting on it. My main concern now is getting good leadership....strong progressive leadership in both the House and the Senate. No more corporate enablers.....

Now.....the Presidential election. I don't have a good feeling there at this point....
