Where's Joe today?
Here's a link to MTP with Kerry and Lieberman. I would have loved to have seen Joe go up against Lieberman.

2. I'm watching this now --
WTF is up with Brokaw? He's bringing up anti-Obama points that aren't really relevant to the context. :grr:

Kerry's doing good - Joe would have been superlative!

And yeah, I guess Joe has been a little busy as of late. :7

3. I have it on TIVO
and haven't watched yet, though I've heard Lieberman has dominated the conversation.

4. Yeah, pretty much. Part two - Veep Sweepstakes.

Editing - I initially said it was pretty boring, but getting interesting.

eg -- Andrea Mitchell just said Biden was more than willing to go to Iraq/Afthanistan w/Obama, but the Obama camp feared he might overshadow Biden. OOOPS - I mean might overshadow Obama.

Also, the other woman (mind went blank) said in passing that Obama personally likes Reed better than Obama.

Other interesting points -- the drawback of someone with a lot of experience would magnify Obama's relative lack of experience in comparison. On the other hand, someone "new" would maybe be too much of an "untested" ticket.

It's driving me nuts - I can hardly wait for it to be over. BOTH the VP choice and the entire election itself.

5. I hope Obama announces his VP soon
I think it will change the atmosphere for the better. Of course, that depends on who he chooses.

6. I don't know if you read my expanded post - or responded to the first
generation - but I said the same thing.

7. I just saw your "expanded post"
Interesting comment from Andrea Mitchell. I wonder if that attitude might eliminate Biden as a VP prospect.

8. AAAAAAHHHHH this is frustrating
I can't stand Joe Lieberman. I am glad I voted Nader/LaDuke in 2000 - my vote didn't make a difference in my state (it wasn't close) but I could not bring myself to vote for Joe Lieberman even then.

I wish Kerry had been more forceful about the surge - his point about the political goal was missed - he should have just said "How do you define success and a "win" in Iraq? It's been a moving target!"

grrrr...

12. No need to answer,
but did you or anyone notice anything about kerry and clark today?

I've read about it elsewhere, and I'm SO angry (again) at kerry that well I dunno what. . .

"You may remember from from a month ago when retired general Wesley Clark wondered aloud about what part of John McCain’s military experience actually qualified him to be President. Clark’s comments came on Face The Nation in response to the McCain talking point at the time about Barack Obama’s Presidential qualifications. Well fast forward to John Kerry this morning on Meet The Press.

For some reason out of the blue Tom Brokaw asked Kerry about Wes Clark’s comments and he almost on queue became the latest to throw Clark under the bus:

Yeah, I, I don’t agree. I don’t agree with Wes Clark’s comment. I think it was entirely inappropriate. I have nothing but enormous respect for John McCain’s service. I had the privilege of standing with John McCain in the, in the cell in Hanoi when we visited there together, when we worked on the issue of Vietnam together. It was an emotional moment. I,
I have awe for John McCain’s experience as a prisoner of war, and he, and he does understand duty and service. But…

What is it that makes folks like Kerry, whom should have an understanding of this issue as well as anyone, throw his fellow Democrat and veteran under the bus like that? Especially since the comments in question by Clark are valid and have never been answered by McCain?

I’ll say it again for the hard of hearing like John Kerry, it’s not McCain’s service itself that was being questioned by Clark, it’s about what part of that heroic service that qualifies him to be President!

Unfortunately the lack of understanding by Democrats like Kerry and others on this will likely mean that one of the more qualified VP candidates will not be considered by Obama for that position and that’s a shame."

g'nite, all

13. yeah, that upset me too - missed opportunity to explain that not every vet
should be president, no matter how serious or dedicated their service. It's really not that complicated!
