Poll question: Alright, you wake up January 4 and log on to DU, only to learn
that Joe Biden has pulled off the most stunning result, finishing solidly in second place. Solidly. Which of the following best describes your most likely, immediate reaction?

1. I have a practical streak and I'd give the money.
I'd also say a little prayer of thanks that Iowans turned out to be so smart. :)

5. I will hardly react at all
I remember all too well my elation when Gore was declared winner in Fla. I'll react when he is inaugurated.

hall. Baby steps to the water fountain. Baby steps to the elevator. Baby steps to New Hampshire. Baby steps all the way to the White House. So is it written. So mote it be.

that if we can just break down the barriers, the campaign will turn into a lovefest. But I am still not going to celebrate until the fat lady sings.

8. I absolutely understand your
feelings, and I do not deny the impact of past experience. It's just that my life has taught that joys are not diminished by their incompleteness. Were I to wait for climax to appreciate love, there would much dissatisfaction and suffering to bear. Blessed Be.

15. I understand being cautious with one's emotions
We've had so many major letdowns, but a good showing in Iowa means that Biden will get the press he needs to reach more people. That would be something really worth celebrating. We've already seen the impact Biden has on people who really get a chance to listen to him.
