Kick ass Mika thread in GD.

Cuba: Before and After the 1959 Revolution
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x4653650

Seeing that the 50 year anniversary of the Cuban Revolution is upcoming, there will be an onslaught of dis-info and anti Cuba propaganda propelled at us, so I thought a little background info would be helpful.

Good job, Mika. Needs to be reenforced periodically.

1. Thanks. 42 posts and no gusanos! Wow!
I think that might be a DU record. :bounce:

I'm off to bed, no doubt there'll be a mewling squirmfest by the time I check back tomorrow.

Maybe some of the night owls can keep it lively. ;) ;)

3. Twelve bells and all's well, Mika! Just looked in, no mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging

backward, learning disabled, overfocused, socially unkempt cretins, yet. Apparently their mothers haven't informed them.

2. It's great to see that information available in one thread. Wow.
Very easy to see why Mika is so well-respected around here among the awakened DU'ers! He's got unbelievable patience, civility.

Seeing your comments about personally knowing Cuban enclaves in many other countries, I've seen Cubans referred to in tv shows from outside the country, and articles. Cubans appear to come and go continually if you read other news, or watch other countries' tv programs. They are referred to in exactly the way they refer to people from Argentina, Jamaica, Chile, Peru, Panama, etc.

WE'RE the ones who have grown up believing Cubans who don't leave the island are our enemies, not the rest of the world.

Just remember, the U.S. has been trying to control Cuba since the 1800's, and hated their intention to remain independent even then, the hatred as summed up in all its glory, in the Breckenridge Memorandum, written December 24, 1897.

4. Oh yes.
More stuff rolling around in his brain than imaginable. Looks like he's at it again tonight.

++

As a semi related aside, he and his assistant have gone back to the hospice where we spent T-day afternoon and done last resort dental repairs on several people there. Just found out this afternoon that he has kept true to his word.

A truly amazing and wonderful man. Seriously.   :grouphug:

5. All in a couple of hours work.
Nothing comparable to your family's outstanding behavior. :toast:

BTW, thanks for showing me how to put that dividing line in a post.

6. Are you sure it's legal to volunteer working with them? Where the hell is the PROFIT in that?
Scares the heck out of me, I can assure you.

What happens if it becomes popular during this wild, unexpected, should-be-outlawed swing to the left in our government? They'll have us stripped down to our shorts, packed into crowded, small houses, with two changes of clothes each, volunteering our time and work to the service of the communes or what ever it is commies call it.

It's just not normal!

Signed,
Jim Bob Lynn

7. Thanks Judi Lynn.
You've added some great information to that thread also. With great patience I might add. :fistbump:

Amazingly few Cubaphobes posting their usual puerile crap there.

Thanks for helping assemble some much needed information to a single thread. I hope DUers are bookmarking it for future reference.

9. Just looked back in at that thread again, it's still going!
Cubaphobes always bring a ton of seething hostility, and heat to a thread, but you note they just never seem to have the information to back up their deep-seated hatred, since they're basing it all on baloney, tripe, garbazhe.

You can see their efforts are truly half-assed and never hold up, do they? ' course not! They got nada. Downright sad seeing them embarrass themselves so pitifully, floundering about, lashing out, trying to snap at others with their conspicuous poisonous fangs. Not a pretty sight.

11. Very appropriate! Carbon copies. Some louder, more persistant, more combative, but all the same,
always.

Can you imagine spending your precious time at the site of people with whom you disagree completely? Such crappy company, and, as their pResident would say, "Who cares what you (they) think?" It's self-defeating, too, in going to the "enemy's" site, hurling insults, trying to label and smear everyone, getting outclassed, outranked, and continuing to hurl oneself again and again at these people who can't possibly respect the right-wing point of view. What's to respect? You'd have to be insane!
