Woman to cycle Cuba for charityA WOMAN from Llandudno is cycling in Cuba to raise money for the Women for Women charity.
Rachel Brown is joining Women for Women Cycle Cuba in March 2009 and will cycle 217 miles (350km) through the Caribbean island.
Rachel, 27, is working with Professor Robert Winston’s women’s charity to raise funds for the health of women and babies.
She needs to raise a minimum of £3,000 and is asking local people and companies to help her reach her target.
The aim is to help with medical research work at the Wolfson and Weston research centre for family health in London.
To help with the fundraising Rachel is holding a band night at the Town House in Llandudno on June 17.
Funds raised by Cycle Cuba will support women scientists and clinicians to work in the research centre to improve the prevention and diagnosis of a range of devastating conditions which cause miscarriage, genetic diseases, infertility, cancer and brain damage.
To sponsor Rachel call her on 07902 038975.
I would love to go to Cuba and ride with this woman in support of her cause, BUT, by dictate of the US government - I can't.
