Anti-Cuba Groups Involved in Massive USAID fraud
Anti-Cuba Groups Involved in Massive USAID fraud
http://www.politicalaffairs.net/index.php/article/articleview/7176/
With the recognition that the Cuban-American mafia has been diverting funds for the U.S. government’s annexationist plans for Cuba for years now, Congress froze $45 million of funds allocated this year to the US Agency for International Development Cuba (USAID) Cuba program… only to subsequently bend to White House promises and unfreeze a large part of them.

In its Tuesday edition, The Miami Herald revealed how Congressman Howard Berman, (Democrat, California), ordered the freezing of the funds last month, partly in response to a $500,000 embezzlement in the Washington Center for a Free Cuba, which came to light earlier this year.

However, under pressure from the White House and USAID itself, plus promises that the cases of fraud would be investigated, Berman announced that the funds would immediately be unfrozen.

Berman says that the State Department assured him that it understood the gravity of the problems, and was acting to correct them, and convinced him that the money should be freed up, with the exception that none of it will be handed over to program participants under investigation.

According to CBS, the Center for a Free Cuba, run by CIA agent Frank Calzon, in which $500,000 vanished, and the so-called Democracy Support Group of swindler Frank Trujillo, will not be granted any further USAID credits until the irregularities are cleared up.

Francis Robles’ Herald article, datelined July 22, states that, the previous Friday, USAID promised an in-depth review of its programs for Cuba and suspended one Miami anti-Castro group that spent at least $11,000 of federal funds on personal items.

At the end of 2006, an audit by the General Accountability Office of USAID’s anti-Cuban activities reported certain tacky purchases by Miami "fighters" – including Trujillo – contracted by USAID to preach its version of democracy for Cuba: cashmere sweaters, Godiva chocolates, Nintendo games and Sony play stations supposedly destined for the staff of agents working for the U.S. Interests Section in Havana.

B39's people. :puke:

1. Calzon knew this was going to hit the fan some time ago, and got to work trying to cover his ass.
I believe he tried to put it all on a younger man at the time, and claim he had fired him.... just the kind of reaction you'd expect from a patriot like Calzon.

Also, among those gifts the dissidents wanted were leather coats, some liquor (can't remember which kind) and, for some reason, CHAIN SAWS. WTF????? You don't want to drink the liquor before you start up your chain saw!

Maybe they're anticipating the time they can get the right-wing back in power, just like the blood bath in Colombia, and get to work on "dissidents" in the way only fascists can do it.

Do you have any idea why it is these right-wing reactionaries in Miami are so attracted to MEDICAL FRAUD, Mika? Good grief! They've been immersed in bleeding the system, taking the U.S. taxpayers to the cleaners for years, and years through medical fraud.

It seems only yesterday Jeb Bush's wealthy Cuban exile ally, Miguel Recarey pulled off the country's LARGEST MEDICARE FRAUD in U.S. history up to that point, and fled the country for Venezuela, and Spain at different times, taking everyone's hard earned tax dollars with him. Hope he's really whooping it up, having a great old time. Why doesn't he send us all a picture of himself sunning himself by a pile of U.S. tax dollars?

No wonder he used to keep himself so heavily armed. He had to know a lot of people would feel like killing him once they knew what kind of filth he intended to prove he is.

It's not just one or two isolated incidents. These guys just keep on coming. There's no end of them.

No doubt someone like Calzon does have someone attached to the internetS like a 200 pound tick trying to drain the life out of all conversations relating to Cuba which don't support his fascist disease.

Do you recall around 2001 or so, there was an a$$###e here who admitted he was employed by Bacardi? Can't remember his name, but he fought like a lunatic, as if he had absolutely nothing, especially self-respect, to lose.

I think he left in a hurry to get a pizza, never made it back. It wasn't "Character Assassin," was it? Sometimes it seems his ghost lives on, when the wind is right.

2. I'm actually more worried about the USAID-NED money that HASN'T been stolen
and is being put to use (our tax dollars) to fund, organize and--I have little doubt--arm fascist groups like the white racist secessionists in Bolivia, and similar groups in Venezuela and Ecuador, and has been/is being poured into rightwing political groups to try to buy elections for the rich fascist minority, and to lard Washington DC P.R. firms like Penn & Schoen to serve the interests of oil giants and other global corporate predators.

At least we can surmise that some of the stolen money is being used to employ workers in luxury goods manufacturing, and in a variety of businesses that serve the rich, and to employ servants. Probably some of it is going to nefarious purposes. But with the "legit" money, we KNOW that ALL of it--plus budgets we know not of--are being used for anti-democracy activities of every kind, including the worst you can think of (assassination plots, instigating civil war, torture/murder of innocent people merely organizing a union, or exercising their political rights).

What a putz Berman is, to fall for this crap! He contributes to the overwhelming problem we have, that the Democrats and the Pukes in Congress are in on these scams together.

5. It makes you miss those innocent days when Joan Baez withheld tax money
because she didn't want to fund the Viet Nam slaughter.

These people have just consolidated their power and now have a slick, global operation that they finance with federal funds.

We have the best mafia in the world, don't we?

4. You've added a lot more food for thought. The I.R.I. They've brought so much suffering
to people in the Western Hemisphere. I honestly didn't know John McClone was connected to these guys, but it's no shock, either.

He has his head so far up his ass he has no grasp of how evil his vicious neo-cons really are, but the survivors know, alright.

Glad to learn the name "Stanley Lucas," too. I didn't know about him, would like to find out more.

Roger Noriega. Evil, twisted little fat guy. Hideous. Former aide to Jesse Helms.

Rog.

You couldn't put together a group of more repulsive, ugly, loathesome, hideous people at the personal level if you had a million years to do it. These guys are low, and it shows on their creepy, stupid faces.

Thanks for posting Mod Mom's background on the I.R.I., and Stanley Lucas, etc.

I.R.I. and John McClown. Well, that tells you everything you need to know about his Western Hemisphere policy plans.
