Fact-check Please: Can the House pass the Senate bill without conference?

If bad events happened and the choices became no bill, a bill stripped to what could be done under budget-reconciliation or the senate bill then there might be serious consideration (in congress and the WH) of passing the senate bill as the most successful of three terrible options... unions or no unions

10. Yeah, that's what I'm not understanding....

.... does "the Senate Bill" mean the exact bill that was passed on Christmas Eve or can "the Senate Bill" be whatever Reid/Rahm/Dodd/Baucus/whomever want it to be and the House can just vote for that?

What that would seem to be an ideal scenario, it doesn't seem "fair" to the rest of the body.

3. What Ive been hearing.....

House Democrats poised to pass on formal conference

House chairman & leaders will meet Tuesday,this meting will be followed by the House Dem Caucus meeting on Thursday I believe, to discuss process. Looks like the House & Senate might be adopting something called a "ping pong" tactic, which means the House would take up the Senates Bill, and send it right back to the Senate for passage. By doing it this way they will beable to get it to the Presidents desk before MA, certifies their election results. It didn't have to be this way The party of NO brought this on themselves.

The final bill, a negotiated merger of house and senate versions, can be achieved through a formal conference or through informal negotiations, which is what the ping-pong thing describes.

But the negotiated result still faces 60-vote cloture in the senate, no matter how negotiated.

The OP refers to a method of avoiding any more senate votes.
