1. Give it a week.
Obama signing a health care bill will lift that approval number.

28. Not significantly.
It will bring a temporary bump at best.

Only a national crisis could bring it up significantly.

6. Damn it just seems like
people on this site are wishing Obama and the democratic party would fail so they'd have more to bitch about with republicans in charge-is that it maybe?

16. You are exactly correct.
Some people on DU just are miserably unhappy unless they're the oppressed underdog ranting at the evil corporatist fascist government. And if that doesn't at all resemble reality, they'll rewrite reality to match their desires.

26. Higher poll numbers gives him more clout with Congress to pass his
legislative priorities. Lower poll numbers give him less clout.

5. Total protonic reversal!
I stopped paying attention to national polls after learning that the lack of support for the President in the South (due to racism) skews the national curve downward by about 25% in every poll.

12. Polls
Are how the greed pig corporations gauge how effective their corporate whore news divisions are doing at disseminating the propaganda.

Without the backing of the corporate whore media Americans would find out how bad Obama really is and his approval numbers would go into the dumper.

Obama's propaganda skewed "approval" is about 50/50, if the real truth was known by the public his approval would be about 10% or less, in other words there would be calls for impeachment.

27. It's called false Dichotomy
Don't forget that's the same corporate media that helped him win the election. 90 percent of Americans get their "news" from that corporate media. They never even show someone unless they approve of them in the first place. We have two choices for pres, they decide who those two choices are, either one is favorable to them. The true progressives like Dean, Nader, Kucinich never get past their vetting.

Now they are going to bash Obama for false reasons when the real reasons are hidden like his back door deal with big health care. It's just one big distraction, only sheeple fall for it. Besides overall they've been favorable to him after all he's been favorable to them.

"The Corporate media ain't done nothing but shit on Pres. Obama"

don't think I'm the one in the Twilight zone with absolute statements like this getting thrown out there.

it still is a little shocking to see this happen for the first time however.

17. I think this constant polling is stupid. Remember
they only call about 1,000 people how in the hell can that many determine just what America wants. And also remember it is who they call. Gallup has always said, they call more republicans because they are the ones who are more likely to vote. So go to google and see if that isn't the case if you don't believe. I think now and always polling is no where near perfect and does not really reflect the mood of the country.

21. Oh no! Whatever will we do? I watch this poll every day.
Obama for this week is averaging less then last week but I think his range is anywhere between 46% to 52% on any given day. Daily polls give good averages over time but you cannot look at one single day. If the disapproval is more then the approval rating for more then a month, then it says something.
