What the Fuck!!!!! My Congressman is on the fence???!!!!!
Gerry Connolly was just on Hardball.

I am frigging Gobsmacked....I just assumed......Wow do I feel dumb for assuming since he voted for the House Bill

He will be getting a phone call momentarily and again tomorrow and I may even go to his district office

He votes against it....He will face primary competition and I will do it myself if I have to.

1. Call, call, call.
Also, many want the CBO #'s before a final decision is made. Wonder when we get them...

5. At least he could be more of a leaner depending on the CBO scores.
I am stuck with Lieberman as my Senator. He messed a lot of things up for us on health care to begin with. And I sent him an email about it but he sent me crappy excuses back.

His name is very Irish - so Catholic is pretty likely. (If this is the problem, you could email him the Catholic nuns' statement.)

18. thanks for that link
any idea how this bill helps protect people from bankruptcy?

Medical bankruptcy seems to be the only way that I can afford to receive the treatment that my doctor has prescribed for me. I am fully insured but lack to money to access medical treatment.

21. Yup I read the webpage you linked
I cannot afford the $6240.oo in medical care that my doctor has prescribed for me.
This bill caps my out of pocket expenses at $6200.oo
I cannot afford to pay these out of pocket expenses, so I go without the treatment.
If I had an extra $6240 or $6200 to spend on medical treatment, I wouldnt be so upset about our health care system.
Too bad I'm poor. Working poor, fully insured, and unable to afford the medical treatment prescribed for me.

22. Are you sure you are interpreting "out of pocket" right?
I hesitate to write this as you likely have looked into it closely, but just in case you are confusing the deductible with out of pocket, here goes. (and I ask forgiveness, if this is presumptuous or I am wrong in your case.)

In some policies, there is a deductible that must be paid first on (non-preventative) medical costs before the insurance kicks in. Then, there usually is either some % the plan pays and some you pay (ie 80%/20%). You STOP paying when the sum of your portion and the original deductible equal $6,240.

23. I have no deductible
My $520.oo per month is for office co-pays and co-pays for medication.
Unfortunetly I am very sick and should be on disability. I am fighting to keep my job and keep off disability.

The way I read this bill my costs would be capped at $6200.oo.
I don't have $6200 to spend on medical care. I have about $2000.oo per year to spend on medical treatment - and that is rough to cover.

I still support this HRC bill, but am saddened that my situation wont improve. I just wish I wasn't in so much pain. :(

Oh well, we all have our crosses to bear. Thanks for the replies and the respect you have given me.

Peace and low stress..

15. Please ask him how this bill will help the working poor / insured / lacking affordable care
Please ask him how this bill would help someone who is insured through their employer. Please ask him how this bill will offer increased access to affordable medical treatment for someone who currently has insurance, but is unable to afford medical treatment due to out of pocket expenses.

I asked Hinchey's staff, but they did not know at the time..
