The headline --swooping -gave me a chuckle. Good luck to Boxer.

Obama swooping into L.A. to boost Sen. Boxer in tough reelection fight
By Sean J. Miller - 04/19/10 06:00 AM ET

President Barack Obama returns to Southern California on Monday for his first fundraising swing in nearly a year to lend support to Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.).

The three-term Democrat has seen her reelection prospects diminish as the Golden State’s unemployment rate has climbed above 12 percent and the GOP prepares to field a well-funded challenger.

Obama is scheduled to speak at an evening fundraising reception for Boxer and the Democratic National Committee at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Tickets for the event are between $250-$2,500, according to Boxer’s office. Later in the evening, the president will address a more exclusive fundraising dinner at the Museum of Natural History. Tickets for the evening event are $35,200 for a couple, with $4,800 going to Boxer's Senate campaign and the rest directed to the DNC, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The venue seats up to 160 people and sold out last week, according to Boxer’s campaign...............

1. Being a non-Californian, I was surprised to learn it's going to be
a tough fight for Boxer. I assumed everyone in CA loved her -- they should!

2. She's great supporter of AIPAC...maybe that's why she's disliked

"Sen. Boxer sponsored AIPAC letter"

The full Senate letter, circulated by Senator Barbara Boxer, says in part:

"We must never forget the depth and breadth of our alliance and always do our utmost to reinforce a relationship that has benefited both nations for more than six decades."

"More than three quarters of the U.S. Senate, including 38 Democrats, have signed on to a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton implicitly rebuking the Obama Administration for its confrontational stance toward Israel."

4. Both Boxer and Brown are in tough fights. Brown had been ahead but then Miss Moneybags began
spending $$ like no tomorrow and Brown has run an invisible campaign. I hope both campaigns can turn it around.

make sure of that.

It's beyond tragic.

"Pres Obama Swooping in"..what would the headline read if it were a republicon? The "media" also makes sure it gives Dems the most predatory frame they can.

It's really hard not want to rant about how crazy it all is sometimes. Thankfully, I'm able to cling to a fig leaf of hope for positive change. I mean, it can't really stay this bad forever, can it???

7. yeah...
there's a "throw the bum out" mentality everywhere... doesn't matter if it's an R or a D. Until the economy improves everyone is vulnerable.

17. Do you live in CA? I do....
and we have to look at her ugly mug at least 20 times a day.

We are so tired of her $$$$ commercials we are worn thin.

We'll see who wins but I'm with Brown.

13. And That Mentality Is Something I Just Cannot Understand
First, you want to vote out all of the incumbents because UE is so bad, but they don't want the government to actually do something about it once elected, such as allowing unions to organize, raising the min. wage, restricting layoffs, etc.

It's just voting based on raw rage and anger without a purpose or remedy.

14. Some incumbents need to be voted out.
Boxer isn't one of them. Jane Harman IS. But that's why God created primaries.
