2. The media is supposed to clamor for a 1% increase?
That doesn't even get outside the margin of error. Seriously, it isn't a story.

Link to an article about a 1% drop? I would be surprised if that was actually a story.

13. 1% increase?
More like 7% according to the media. Last time I heard a report about approval ratings, it was at 44%. Did any of them mention 50% approval this year?

10. Of course. As usual it's just That Region Which Cannot Be Criticized No Matter What...
that brings down the average. Just like with pretty much everything else in America.

12. by the numbers
every time the bush numbers took a hit the only way you would know about would be to use the google, and find out for yourself. From what I've noticed, if President Obama's numbers fall it's considered a great HEADLINE! story shouted from the rooftops. Obama's numbers fall=Shout it out!!!! A republican's numbers fall=(insert cricket chirps here) "Liberal" media...What else needs to be said?

17. Chris Matthews mentioned it, along w/this interesting electoral tidbit from NYT's Jeff Zeleny....
The president’s name may not be on the ballot in November, but his record is on the line. For the past 50 years, nearly without exception, the party has lost seats whenever its president’s average approval rating in September and October before the election dropped below 50 percent.
