1. Interesting photo
Bush's first state dinner was with Mexico.

It's amazing that when it comes to immigration reform, Bush was light years ahead of the wing nuts in his party.

2. We have friends who have been invited to a Cinco de Mayo party

a the White House. My friends were busy trying to figure out what to wear. They were hoping that even having it on the coattails of the AZ bill would send a message.

That this is a big country and we celebrate all our citizens' cultures.

Another thing I love about this Admin..they've had parties for everybody..all the cultures.

No, I take that back, I'm not waiting.

Haven't seen Obama say "pierogi" or "pirozhok", either. Not holding my breath on those.

Obama needs to try them if he hasn't (I would be surprised if he hasn't though, coming from Chicago).

I like mine boiled, and then fried in butter with browned onions, with dollops of sour cream on serving.

.... and the there have been some important issues the US and Mexico have been working on since BEFORE the AZ bs.

I've heard they've got some gangs down there. ;)
