Axelrod: GOP has 'contributed nothing'

A top Obama administration adviser said he is optimistic about Democratic prospects in the November elections, arguing that voters realize Republicans "contributed nothing."

David Axelrod, senior White House adviser, said on NBC's "Meet the Press," that Democrats are mounting a large scale midterm effort to ensure the party maintains control of the House and Senate.

"They have rooted for failure," Axelrod said of Republicans. "They have contributed nothing."

Axelrod said Democrats have a strong record of casting "courageous votes."

The $787 billion fiscal stimulus package and healthcare law are among the top issues in the election, alongside broader concerns about the economy.

2. OH no no some nut job republican on Matthews Friday

said that the republicans have very good ideas. But the president completely ignores them and shunts them aside. That he pushes thru Democratic bills etc that are bound for failure while ignoring the ones that the republicans propose that the public wants. How damn delusional was that guy. For once tho, Matthews let him have it. He told the guy he was way way off base. That all the republicans did was deny and block.

SOME Democrats have a strong record of courageous votes. Others are spineless, weak-kneed Blue Dog cowards who blow whichever way the political winds take them.
