Shirley Sherrod blasts Fox News as racist

Now this is going to drive the right bananas.

Check out this nugget in an interview that Shirley Sherrod did with Joe Strupp, in which she comes right out and claims Fox News is using her as a "pawn" in a racist plot to undo the gains African Americans have made:

She said Fox showed no professionalism in continuing to bother her for an interview, but failing to correct their coverage.

"I think they should but they won't. They intended exactly what they did. "They were looking for the result they got yesterday," she said of Fox. "I am just a pawn. I was just here. They are after a bigger thing, they would love to take us back to where we were many years ago. Back to where black people were looking down, not looking white folks in the face, not being able to compete for a job out there and not be a whole person."

This is pretty incendiary stuff. Sherrod is clearly not going away, and now she appears determined to force a larger conversation about the Breitbart-Fox News axis's broader efforts to stoke white resentment towards the nation's first African American president.

Of course, if the White House's goal is to avoid racial controversies, this blast from Sherrod isn't going to make it any easier for them to take a stand and resolve this.

But let's have that conversation about what Breitbart and Fox are really up to, say I! Looking forward to Fox's coverage of this.

14. ICAM. This is the perfect way to expose them for what they are. And if
cable networks like MSNBC and CNN have any guts at all, they'll report it correctly and gain viewers at the same time.

21. it has already blown up in their face
it remains to be seen what will be done about these rightwing hackjobs - I think Obama should have denounced Fox News but fuck it, I'll take Ms. Sherrod. People need to start telling it like it is - Fox is NOT A CREDIBLE NEWS SOURCE - they get their talking points straight from repukes in power. I want to see people stop going on that piece of shit channel as if it is legitimate - anyone with any amount of sense does not watch that garbage.

6. I still think Breitbart and Fox should be sued.
Even if they don't settle right away, they wouldn't want this to drag out. But if each and every one of the people they lie about and slander would sue, the FCC would really truly have to do something.

7. I think she shoulld keep saying it.
Over and over and over.

Fox personalities and members of the right call Obama a racist every day. They call Michelle a racist. They call Holder a racist. They called Sotomayer a racist. Called Colin Powell a racist. Manufactured the ACORN stuff ... now flogging the BS New Black Panther nonsense .... terrorist fist jab ... saying Obama is kenyan not American ...

This is the GOP Southern Strategy ... they want racial tension, but they want to play OFFENSE, not DEFENSE.

Its time to flip the narrative and pound them ... put them on the defensive.

Fox=/=news. Fox is unabashedly racist.

Ms. Sherrod will have her say, I do believe. It may grate on many ears as she speaks truth to power.

12. this is who should be taking the message further.
She sounds like a strong and wonderful person and can handle any kind shit thrown at her considering what all she's been through in her life. Now the question is will the 'other' fox media let her continue to speak along this line or will they continue on the 'Obama should DO something'...

Edited on Wed Jul-21-10 12:58 PM by activa8tr
that is rubbing salt in the wound.

Fixed Noise is salting the little racist nuggets of distorted news for the white racist trash that watches them, day after day, ever since Obama started to run for President.

He's a smoker
He went to a Madrassa
He uses a teleprompter.

and on and on and on... ACORN, NBP party, NAACP, etc etc etc.
