Can someone refute this Health Care talking point for me?

One of the women who I deal with for our company just told me that her assistant went in for knee surgery. Cathy (the vendor) told me that she advised her assistant to get it done now, as once "Obama's Health Care" kicks in, she'll be denied because she'll be too old. She repeated twice "Obama's Health Care", obviously to score points.

Another Fox News listener, no doubt. Anyone want to help with with a counter-argument?

Ask her what she means by that. Ask her why she feels as if she has to put everything in terms of right wing talking points.

10. I have an elderly relative who is now terrified to go to the Dr. Her

sons literally have to go to her house and physically take her there. She believes that if anything is wrong with her, the death panels will have her killed.

She watches Fox all day, every day. It's sad and outrageous how they have terrorized seniors.

so I'd just say it's not true. If the friend already has insurance, then nothing will be different for that friend.

Explain to her that it most decidedly is not, that everything that isn't currently under the VA, Medicare, or Medicaid is still under the control of the right-wing's (and the DLC's) beloved private insurance companies.

Which is a different problem entirely.

Tell her that the GOP is making up those claims so that people will get very expensive treatment NOW, so that the insurance company will make more money ... money they won't make later.

Then, tell her the bill has ZERO age restrictions that you can find ... and ask that if she thinks there are such restrictions, where are those in the bill? If she is so sure this is true, clearly she can give you links to them.
