Andrew Romanoff Campaign - Please Help
Andrew Romanoff. Romanoff sold his Denver home and cleared his personal savings to loan his campaign $325,000 in recent weeks—a last-ditch effort to try to knock off Bennet

Please help him by contributing to his campaign. Please help him to get elected

1. Latest message from Andrew:
We must be doing something right.

Now we're under attack not only from my Democratic opponent, but also from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). The attacks may not have been coordinated, but they use the same script. "Andrew Romanoff is a dishonest, career politician," says the Bennet campaign. "Andrew Romanoff is a hypocrite, plain and simple," says the NRSC.

The source of this slander? The opposition said I couldn't win if I didn't accept contributions from political action committees (PACs) and then accused me of planning to do so in the general election.

Both statements are false. I don't take any PAC money now, I have not done so at any point in this campaign, and I will not do so in the general election. I don't know how to make my stand any clearer.

To set this matter to rest, I took one further step today. I vowed to ask the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) to exclude any PAC dollars from contributions or expenditures it makes on my behalf. (The DSCC is supporting my opponent, supplementing the $1.3 million he has taken from PACs with independent expenditures of its own.)

I wish my opponent had been willing to discuss these issues in the open, instead of ducking nine debates and hiding behind surrogates. I'm slated for another debate -- without him -- tomorrow.

Coloradans deserve better. They deserve a senator who will answer their questions, as often and as frankly as possible. Let me fulfill that pledge right now. If you would like to talk with me at any time (though preferably before midnight!), please call me at 303-777-xxxx Munged for privacy, PM me if you want the number. That's my home phone number. It seems only fair; after all, you get enough calls from candidates like me!

Thank you.

Andrew Romanoff (signed)

2. Romanoff winning would be huge for progressives!
Edited on Tue Aug-03-10 10:47 PM by liskddksil
He supports single-payer health-care and the immediate inclusion of a public option. Sen. Bennet, was non-commital on the public option, until Romanoff entered the race. While he wrote an ultimately meaningless letter to include the public-option, he did nothing when he had the chance. On the issue of education, Romanoff is a strong supporter of public education and teachers. He helped broker a huge investment in school-construction as speaker of the CO state house. Sen. Bennet, on the other hand, is supported by many in the "education reform" movement, who seek to punish teachers who work in the harshest situations by instituting merit-pay and create more privately run charter-schools.

Also welcome to the Democratic Underground!

4. Don't forget the $11M that Bennet stole from the teacher retirement funds
and lost it all in the stock market.

I am a product of the Denver Public Schools.

I am a proud graduate of George Washington High School in '93.

Bennet cannot even be trusted, and I know he is a close Obama ally because he shares the same views as Dummkopf (Duncan) in education.

He has pretty much zero support from most of the unions, who have backed Romanoff.

The teacher's union - CEA - the largest teacher's union here in Colorado are holding off their endorsement until August 10th.

Good decision on CEA - they can easily endorse Romanoff the very next day.
