State Sen. Hansen Clarke staged a stunning upset victory over 7-term Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick Tuesday night.

With 46% of the overall district’s results in, Clarke had a 49%-37%% lead over the incumbent, who was first elected to Congress in 1996.

2. Not a shocker considering the corruption of the family

so I'm glad Senator Clarke got the win, and hopefully will carry the Democratic flag for that district come November

All part of electing better Dems. Most of the time, that means getting rid of or not supporting Blanche Lincoln type "Blue Dogs," but it also means getting rid of these corrupt incumbents - - the former generation of whom, incidentally, were a big part of the reason why the Contract on America gang took the House in 1994.

11. The people in her district have made their decision. However, let's not

condemn Ms. Kilpatrick for how her son turned out. That's very dangerous, because I certainly wouldn't want to be held to account for something my family did. That being said, I wish Mr. Clarke a succesful run, and an infusion of new blood can sometimes be a good thing.
