While 90% of the MSM is RW why have we been so stupid as not to get our own networks and force the cable companies to broadcast them. Why is it Rupert Murdoch still calls the tune? Why aren't our big LW investors buying out News Corporation which is partly owned by an Saudi? If I had a few billion I would buy 'em out.

1. It takes a lot of money to do all that . Who has a lot of money? Rich people.
Rich people are overwhelmingly Conservative and right-wing. Thus, their businesses slant that way.

Which big LW investors are you talking about that have both the money and time to start up a nationwide "progressive" network?

6. Name a few. Nearly all the rich left-wing people are already too busy or too old to do something

like start up a huge venture like this.

The last one who did, Ted Turner, who founded CNN, is 72 years old.

Back when he ran CNN, it was counted on to give liberal, or at least true fair-and-balanced, reporting. However, once he sold it to AOL-TimeWarner, it moved further to the right, and is now center-right.

Warren Buffett? Too busy running Berkshire Hathaway, and is about 80 years old.

Here's something you could possibly start with though:

CA Congresswoman Jane Harman, an unabashed liberal, has a husband that just bought Newsweek from the Washington Post.

So, expect Newsweek to be sympathetic to liberal causes.

Maybe with all their money they could also start a progressive nationwide televison and radio network to go with Newsweek.

However, he's 91 years old. So, once again, rich liberal person is 70+ years old.

Any rich liberals under the age of 50?

2. we need lots more...but do not miss out on Current TV
Part of my cable line up. I just checked to see what's on, and it is a doc about global warming in Greenland right now. Current Vanguard is just excellent stuff, and it can be watched at their website as well. The animated show 'Supernews' is hilarious, I recommend the White House bits, and especially the bits with Lady Liberty talking with Uncle Sam.
Current is worth finding on TV or online. Do not let the descriptions of the show on the cable guide fool you. Much great stuff to see. Some people claim it is for 'younger people' but if you find anything better than Current Vanguard anywhere, let me know. This is the show that Laura Ling and Euna Lee were working for when they got waylaid in North Korea.
So there is that one.

10. I do not know. Current TV is owned by Current Media
And the only principles I know are Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, I think it is. Link to video page http://current.com/video/ watch 'Uncle Sam's Throbbing Military' and 'Obama Says F*ck It' and then hit the Vanguard heavy stuff.

5. LinkTV, RealNews, Democracy Now,...
There used to be NPR before it was taken over. It's out there, problem is you have to LOOK for it. And it's always much easier to say "ditto" than to seek something out and think for yourself.

8. Ever Try MSNBC for Ed Schultz? or RACHEL or KEITH? What about Democracy Now/Grit TV
There is some Liberal TV if you look for it. I'm so Liberal that Democracy Now and Laura Flanders on "Grit TV" work for me. But, I won't discount MSNBC's line up after 6:00 p.m. (est) any night. I don't watch all of it but hit the highlights. But, "Democracy Now" and "Grit TV" have replaced CNN for the NEWS I Need to KNOW, lineup.

It's small but you can help it grow if you tune in.
