7. All of that is true, but...

different people draw different conclusions from it. I believe that if the Left in FDR's day had not criticized many of his policies so vociferously that he would have been a far lesser president. It was that very criticism that forced Roosevelt to act more Liberal than he might otherwise have been. In the same fashion Obama NEEDS a strong and vocal Left today to provide cover for more Liberal policies than otherwise might be possible. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that.
