Obama just emailed me - I should "commit to vote in 2010"...BHO,
I have been voting Democratic in every election since the late 1960's, and have no plans to stop now. I am actively supporting the Democrats running for Governor and Senator here in PA, as well as the local and regional Democrats who may need help. I plan to vote for you in 2012 should you decide to run, but that will only be because I really hate republicans. I am aware that you really dislike those of us on the Democratic left, and I have to tell you some of us are not too fond of you, either at this point...but we will support you reluctantly.
It would be great if you could become a real Democrat sometime soon, but I no longer am expecting very much.

Thanks for the email - I was going to vote anyway.

Fired Up? Not a bit.

1. I just got it too
My first thought was "I committed about 30 friggin' years ago". OFA's tone has bothered me from day one. There's something condescending about it. It does make me wonder though if they are worried we aren't going to go vote.

2. Sure
I'll just keep shoveling sand against the tide a little while longer. If nothing else it gives me a right to complain.

4. I just got mine.
I feel so used.

I have no intention of sitting out the next election, even though my vote is lost in the sea of red that is the Utah vote.

Rep Jason Jason Chaffetz just admitted, when having to return from his Hawaii vacation to vote on the emergency-relief package, he was happy to vote "no", as that is his "job". I thought he was elected to represent his constituents, but in Utah the Republican party holds a stranglehold which will never be broken. Too much "church" influence.

9. So the president who achieved more Liberal goals than anyone except FDR and LBJ
is not a "real Democrat"? You people are hilarious.

And don't worry about 2012, you will not *have* to vote for him. He will not run.

13. You mean we might get a Democrat in office after all? I hope he removes himself
with enough grace to allow another Democrat to run successfully, but personally, I have NO DOUBT he will run in '12...Your great liberal is a great politician and he won't miss another chance to be president, and he surely will win again.

I just won't be happy with him for another 4 years.

14. Your stupid insist on him not being a Democrat really makes you look, well, stupid
And i hope he'll run again only to make people like you miserable for another 4 years - but i'm pretty sure that he won't and you'll get what you deserve - Palin. This would be some serious fun.

Now go learn some basic history, and then we might be able to have a discussion.

15. What yuou consider "basic history" has been my life Truman wa president
when I was born, and IMO, Democrats have been going downhill ever since, to the waste of time of the Clinton and Obama type of "Democrats"...And, no, I'm not stupid at all.
I have nothing I want to "discuss", thanks anyway.

Have a geat day.

Fired Up?
Not at this time...
try again later.

10. I just got one, too. I'm not happy, but I'm not lobotomized so of course I'll be voting Dem.
It's a matter of the spirit behind the vote. Guess that's what Gibbs was counting on.

12. Got it too
I've voted since 1992 (first election I could vote in). I WILL be voting in NJ. My district's house seat is up. But I'd love to appeal to the Dem Leadership that they start throwing some money at the easy 'pickings'. Most Dems that I live near have no idea who our candidate is. I know and I'm speaking about him but . . .

16. Received the same...
and it shows the limitations of e-mail. The idea is to get those who are independents and "soft" Democrats to commit to voting and then remind them of their pledge but it goes out to everyone on the OFA list. I am a precinct chair, member of the county executive board and an election judge who has voted mainly Democratic for almost 50 years and nothing but Democratic for the past 25 years who received the same e-mail. I just deleted it. I don't have the lifetime to get exercised by such things.
