Re: Dr. Laura...So what if some black people use the "N"-word, does that make it right?
Dr. Laura "I'm against moral relativism" suddenly thinks it's okay to do something because some other folks are doing it. :eyes:

But it should come as no surprise.

When it comes to things she does, she's never been as hard on herself as the people who call her about their problems looking for help --for the most part, she offers them abuse. Something she makes her living doing.

I don't want to hear about morals from Dr. Laura. If she were a real doctor, she would be brought up on charges of malpractice.

1. She screwed her case with that lame apology
where she made the crack about marrying out of your race.

3. that part of her behavior revealed what longtime listeners are familiar with
that she will go out of her way to inject some form of pain and humiliation that is completely unnecessary and unhelpful into every interaction she has with a caller.

she is a mean, mean person.

later she will pretend that was all in service of making that person better.

bullshit.

she enjoys it.

4. Her arrogance makes me crazy
I've only listened to her one time. Years ago. I couldn't believe anyone would want to listen to this arrogant bitch.

12. Laura is Jewish by conversion, not by birth.
She did so to marry outside her faith, which she admitted not having. She abandoned Judaism in 2003.

"In July 2003, Schlessinger announced on her show that she was no longer an Orthodox Jew. In a series of monologues over the next month, she explained that she no longer felt a connection with God. Her religious approach to the show lessened substantially after this announcement."

2. I have despised Dr. Laura Sledgehammer ever since she first started
The few times I listened to her radio show I heard her make very judgmental remarks towards gay callers and really, almost anyone who called her for advice. Very mean and rude to nearly every caller. I didn't even know she was still on the air until this happened. I thought for sure they had stored her in formaldehyde somewhere. Maybe she's desperate for ratings so she pulled this.

5. Why do wingnuts always start race wars? She new if she used that word it would start something.
The GOP types can't stop themselves from bringing up black/white racisms every single week it seems. Almost like they are dog whistle-ling their racist base. There never seems to be a real black/white race issue underneath the free "publicity".

6. Since when do they care about rappers?
These racists that absolutely detest rap, couldn't name a rapper, past or present, would never purchase a rap CD, suddenly want to do what the rappers do. Can you smell the irony? :eyes:

BTW, the KKK, Aryan Nation, and their ilk use the n-word with abandon, why don't they talk about THEIR use of the term?

7. That was just awful. I can't believe she did that. How disgusting.
She was making a valid point for discussion, except she wasn't "discussing" anything. She didn't want to hear an explanation about why some blacks use the word. She had her own agenda, point of view, and repeatedly used that offensive word intentionally. It sounded to me like she enjoyed saying it.

BTW...it is SO obvious why some blacks using it is allowed, but not whites: it's that age old saying....I can call my father an ass-hole, but you sure as hell better not.

8. Racists are FRUSTRATED that they can't use the N-WORD ...
They used to be able to use that word with impunity to diminish African-Americans.

Then, with the civil rights movement, they had the word taken away, and that really pisses them off.

Of course they still use the N-WORD in private, when they are among others who are similarly frustrated. This pisses them off more because now they have to hide their usage of that word. It binds them up. Being "restricted" in this way.

Dr Laura's use of the N-WORD the other day, and her lame defense, of why she should be permitted to use it, reflects her own frustration regarding the N-word. She WANTS to be able to use the N-word freely.

Let me repeat that ... she WANTS to be able to use the N-word freely.

I think this is why, on a number of occasions during Dr Laura's conversation, she repeated the N-word over and over.

For a brief moment, we saw her without the "restriction" ... and the word she WANTS to be able to use came POURING OUT.

It was as if for every time she'd held that word in over the years, a pressurized stack of N-Words was built. And in that interview, she was releasing the pressure with an almost endless stream of N-words.

9. So, Dr. Laura, there is no difference between marriage and rape then?
Is that really where you want to take this?

10. Some church going Dr Laura fans
who adored her relentless homophobia now have to readjust their take on her and admit that the woman is a genuinely hateful bigot all around.

Perhaps this can be a "teachable moment." ;)

so she is not sorry in any way.
