Critics say Obama's message becoming 'incoherent'
Washington (CNN) -- President Obama's comments on a plan to build an Islamic center in the shadow of ground zero are not only giving opponents an opportunity to attack him but also reveal a messaging problem from the White House, a communications expert said.

"The danger here is an incoherent presidency," said David Morey, vice chairman of the Core Strategy Group, who provided communications advice to Obama's 2008 campaign. "Simpler is better, and rising above these issues and leading by controlling the dialogue is what the presidency is all about. So I think that's the job they have to do more effectively as they have in the past ."

Obama has faced a torrent of criticism for what was called mixed messages on the controversial plan. On Friday, Obama said Muslims "have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country ... That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances."

The following day, Obama told Ed Henry, CNN's senior White House correspondent, that he was "not commenting on the wisdom" of the project, just the broader principle that the government should treat "everyone equal, regardless" of religion. Then a White House spokesman clarified those comments

3. The messages were both coherent and consistent with each other
If these people were not fucking morans they would understand that.

CNN is so busy jumping backwards through their own assholes to keep Fox from calling them "liberal" that they don't even take the time for critical analysis of what passes for content on their sad network.

The decline of CNN is sort of a shame but they've brought it on themselves.

4. The message made perfect sense to me
But then again, I am an educated person who does not rely on cable news and talk radio for information.

6. Unfortunately true
I WANT Obama to grab the message. Be assertive, be bold...and don't give in to lobbyists.

But since he has given in to the banks and lobbyists Obama should come out and reveal the truth. WHY has he done what he's done? Explain to people what's going on behind the scene. What if he actually told the truth?

Sounds like the GOP media trying to build another "Obama's Katrina" meme.

Have they heard the Republicans speak lately?

12. Pundits prefer stuff like "They hate us for our freedoms" and
"just one pinch of this anthrax in this little bottle here..." unambiguous nonsense bullshit stuff that they can say "hit it out of the park".

This has never been Obama's stock in trade.

13. the thing is he could say unambiguously what our laws say concerning
freedom of religion & say it as unapologetically as W-only for the greater good, but he hasn't. There are alot of things he could say without wavering & he should start now.

14. POTUS seems to me to be quietly plugging away at his desk, getting the job done...
... and giving the occasional quite-coherent, on-message speech.

It's the MSM and the RW (but I repeat myself) who have a need to manufacture stories in order to have something to blather about.

16. Incoherent as compared to what?
"Mosque. Bad. Obama. Muslim. ... <grunt>."

More evidence that CNN is irrelevant.
